LRCW Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Though details are scarce at this point, former Columbus area attorney Craig Calcaterra reports Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott was cited in a "car crash" before the team's flight to Phoenix yesterday. Calcaterra, a currently non-practicing lawyer, is the lead baseball writer at NBCSports.com and based out of New Albany. According to Ohio State coach Urban Meyer after the team arrived for later this week's Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame, only senior defensive tackle Tommy Schutt is expected out for the game with injury. Elliott traveled with the team as expected. While it's not immediately clear what impact if any this will have on Elliott's final game in scarlet and gray, Calcaterra went on to add that the police report was "not ready yet" but should be out later today. He further clarified that Elliott was apparently driving on a suspended license though he couldn't get the Columbus Police Department to confirm that detail. We'll have more as it's made available. ColonelCrazy Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Not good news, but I'll wait to see what the citation is for. Assuming it is for failure to yield or failure to maintain an assured clear distance, it's not a major ordeal. I can't condone driving on a suspended license, but that hasn't been confirmed. Either way, probably not worthy of any disciplinary action.
John Anthony Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Talked to my lawyer friend in Cbus, he either had an unpaid parking ticket or failure to show insurance. He probably didn't even know his license was suspended, although, he should have taken any ticket seriously.

NKYknowitall Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Urban wants a chance to beat ND, of course he's not gonna face any disciplinary action.
nkuclubbaseball19 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Urban wants a chance to beat ND, of course he's not gonna face any disciplinary action. Or it could be because there isn't anything to really discipline him for...
NKYknowitall Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Or it could be because there isn't anything to really discipline him for... Let this be a player from, oh I don't know, Florida State and everybody would be taking shots at Jimbo for not disciplining his players.
UKMustangFan Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Urban wants a chance to beat ND, of course he's not gonna face any disciplinary action. He doesn't need Elliott to beat ND...JMO.
UKMustangFan Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Let this be a player from, oh I don't know, Florida State and everybody would be taking shots at Jimbo for not disciplining his players. I can't stand Ohio State. There's no reason for discipline.

That may be true. But until the facts come out, there is nothing to say "oh he should be disciplined." I'll wait to find out why the license was suspended and if he knew it was before making judgement. The citing for a car crash isn't anything to throw a fuss about since it could've been just an accident. Those typically end with some citation and fault being given. I can't believe I'm defending someone from OSU.

I'm sure NKY wants him suspended for his car hydroplaning in the never ending rain this weekend also.
