newarkcatholicfan Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Yes, the Big Ten's Nebraska enter just 5-7 but when all was said and done that 5-7 team, had more than enough for UCLA, who entered 8-6. For the winners it was the ground game that led them to the win. That ground game ended the night with 4 rushing touchdowns and 326 yards. Leading the ground attack was,Devine Ozigbo, a freshman from,Sachse, TX. (20 CARRIES 80 YARDS.)
Wireman Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Exhibit A that there are way too many bowl games.
ggclfan Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 College football has to do something about the targeting rule. The kid for Nebraska got kicked out of the game for targeting on a tackle that would make every defensive coach proud. Absolutely nothing wrong with the tackle at all and the kid gets kicked out of the game. Every announcer/analyst that saw it disagreed with the call. The targeting rule has good intentions but is out of control.

NEERFAN Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Same thing in the Miami game. Different tackle, but by no means was he targeting. It appeared he was attempting to avoid hitting the receiver in the head.
nees1212 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 He went over top of him, and pulled his hand back. Yes, his hand hit his helmet, but he was holding it back. He didn't punch and throw a forearm to the head. I felt bad for both of these kids.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Exhibit A that there are way too many bowl games. I think your first exhibit would be better with the Central Michigan vs Minnesota example, than two storied programs and a really good game. Marshall vs UCONN was horrific. This was actually a very good game, in a good spot for TV, with a nice crowd. I don't understand the "too many bowl games" narrative thrown around. If you don't want to watch them, don't. If fans want to attend, and Nebraska had about 15,000 that were okay with the trip, let 'em. IU and Duke are very average, but it was a fun game to watch. I thought the South Florida vs WKU game was entertaining, as you'd expect, but the crowd was horrific and I'm sure it lost to color bars in Houston and San Francisco, so maybe that should be your first exhibit. You want to wager on the national TV number for Nebraska vs UCLA compared to South Florida and WKU? More football around the Holidays, for me, the better. If I don't like a game / match-up, I can assure you I can find something else to watch.
