December 20, 201510 yr Who picks up their supporters? I recall some on here think that Rubio will end up winning the nomination, what do others think?
December 20, 201510 yr Carson is/has/already fell. Rubio, Cruz, and Trump picks up supporters. Trump is highest nationally now than he has ever been. Remember I am not a Trump supporter, but if he splits Iowa and New Hampshire he is gonna win the nomination, because the South is coming up after that and he will roll there......Looking more and more like Trump vs Hillary.
December 21, 201510 yr It's comical watching the GOP blue bloods cry over Trump smashing their favorites. If the Dems had anyone with half a chance they would beat HRC. This could have been the first of many NON lifetime politicians running for president. It's coming America, and Trump is just the beginning.
December 21, 201510 yr Author Cruz has been picking up the Carson supporters. This weekend Paul said that people will be shocked at what he does. I that many of them see Trump and Carson tanking, and since all of the rest besides Cruz are about even, it just seems like they are waiting for those two to tank and pick up their support.
December 21, 201510 yr This is what the polls looked like 4 years ago Cain went from leading to out of it in one month. Newt jumped 24% in a month Mitt just held steady through it all Then less than a month after those polls, Mitt Romney takes the lead

Newt jumped 24% in a month Mitt just held steady through it all Then less than a month after those polls, Mitt Romney takes the lead I don't think comparing a weak establishment candidate towing the party line to a self financed outsider willing to address issues no other candidate will touch just is not a reasonable comparison. The fact that Trump is loathed by the GOP establishment, for me, is a HUGE selling point.
December 21, 201510 yr The issue here is times have changed drastically in the last four years. Mainstream America is tired of the same ole same ole. I can tell you that Republicans and Democrats are tired of the direction of our country. Look no farther than the Kentucky governors race and the county list that crossed over and voted Republican. Was talking with several democrats that are big in this stuff at UK womens game last night and they said they are going to vote whichever Republican candidate that is nominated, doesn't matter. And these are donors to the party. What you see reported on TV is not whats happening in America right now. Believe me on that.
December 21, 201510 yr The only thing that might make me consider Trump would be a 30 delay on all speaking so someone can censor it first and a solid team of military/foreign affairs experts who know what they heck they are doing. Honestly, he scares me a little. Kind of like Putin does.

The problem I have with voting for any GOP candidate is that the GOP does not distinguish between foreign interventionism and defence of country. To go into Iraq the second time was just flat out stupid.

The presidential election will be decided by states like Ohio and Florida as usual. The way the system is currently, it isn't gonna change anytime soon.
December 21, 201510 yr If your point is that voters are tired of same old Washington politicians... Then it's an invalid point. People have been saying this stuff for decades. That's how Bill Clinton got in office. He was a "new" Democrat from Arkansas and Ross Perot was a sharp businessman, etc... Perot split up Bush's votes and Clinton got in. Once he got there, he learned very quickly how the "machine" works and the machine is bigger than any politician or President at this point. I truly believe there would be little difference in the government as a whole whether it is Hillary or Trump or anyone else who gets in office. The office is part of the machine... It's not an all powerful dictatorship position.
December 22, 201510 yr You are saying nothing changes. I never said anywhere that the office of the President changes. I said that mainstream America has changed and is changing rapidly. To deny this is not smart. Lots of talking heads are not seeing what is happening, and the outer fringes are not either. People are tired. Tired of what our country is becoming/has become. I hear it all the time. I know I am with them. I have said time and time again I am not a Trump "man". This is not about Trump, Clinton etc. This is about doing whats right, not whats going on now and has been for some time, on both sides. This runs deeper than I think the normal person who just skims the surface of what we see, read, or hear on CNN, FOX etc. Just today the third defense Secretary has said some pretty alarming things about this administration and how they have handled ISIS. Our senate and congress are more corrupt that most inmates, and have far less of a honor code. We as a whole have removed "In God we Trust" out of America. That was the beginning of the end and has sent our country into a abyss that I dont know if anyone can pull it out of, unless the people demand change and drastic change and demand it quick. Think I am stupid, hang around for a few years and watch close......
December 22, 201510 yr I don't think you're stupid at all... I just don't think the general public is saying anything differently now than we (they) have been saying for many decades... Everyone really wants change, the problem is that change is very difficult and very slow... Our government has been a runaway train for a loooong time... Not easy to turn course, even for many who hold high offices in government. Many of them want to change things, but it's not that easy. Not easy like Mr. Perot famously said, "get under the hood and fix it". It isn't realistic. And things are more screwed up in the world now than they were when he said that. It's good to want change, but it'll take several presidencies heading in the right direction to make it happen IMO. No one in this crop of candidates can or would really change much IMO. And I state again, it's just my opinion.
