This should be interesting.....

Good to see the Boyle County team in there this week. They've been lighting up the scoreboard so far this season.

Glad to see the Lady Camels getting well deserved recognition! This is a super talented group of ladies, they are going to make some noise this year and will make Mason County's road back to the final four tough

This is going to be an interesting season

Others to consider...Ryle Harlan Co Owensboro Catholic...

Eastern and Sacred Heart tangle tomorrow..the first of many 7th region showdowns

Butler already beat Male

Franklin Co beat Manual

Many good showdowns coming up in Lexington soon

Interesting note that NKY Coaches have Ryle #3 over all ahead of Campbell in NKY poll. Love the lady Camels so glad to see the attention they are getting in this poll. And could see how lady Raiders at 2 and 2 are difficult to break that top 20 unless of course you considered their scheduled compared to others bottom half of list. Time will tell.

They are ahead by one spot and the lady Camels loss is to a team that is ranked higher than both teams Ryle has lost to. CC also beat Ryle last season, so I would say the ranking is sufficient for now until the two play head to head.

I'm going to have to agree with CKC here about Campbell being ahead of Ryle for now. With last years win and only one loss to FC, that seems correct.

Your better argument is that the NKY coaches have Ryle 3 spots ahead of Holy Cross and they have already beaten SK this year. And of course two close losses to top 12 teams. I appreciate whoever puts these rankings together so I don't mean to throw anyone under the bus, it can't be an easy thing to do this early in the season

So you would justify CC making in the poll and Ryle not by using a blow out loss to Franklin Co and 3 very close games to teams that are ranked 7-10 in the NKY poll over Ryle playing a loaded up front schedule and losing to two teams (closely) that are in the top 10 in the state? I'm not sure I'm buying what you're selling. Love the Camels and happy for their success, but not sure that solidifies your argument.

Seems incorrect to place much emphasis, if any, on last year's head to head ... For example, last year Holmes only loses were to HC, times 3 ! Holmes clearly deserves higher ranking this year, yes? Plenty of other similar examples.

Agree putting the rankings together is difficult task, especially so early, so THANKS for coming up with something for posters to debate. Obviously, the BGP rankings does not use a formula, nor does difficulty of schedule seem to be much consideration. It is only someone's subjective opinion. You could drive yourself crazy using the merry-go-round argument of team A beat B, but team B beat C, then team C beat A! Time will make this task easier.

I would absolutely agree that in most cases the previous years game would have very little weight. But in this particular case the two teams are essentially the same players.

As far RCC9's comment I think I would slightly disagree. CC is 4-1, despite winning by a small margin, they did win. And I think that's pretty important in rankings. CC's loss (though a bigger margin) was to a higher ranked team than Ryles losses (smaller margins). I don't think that's enough to put Ryle ahead of CC. I would never say it's an easy pick, so I get the debate of it. But IMHO I think Ryle would need to beat CC or they need a common opponent or two for this year to change the order of the two teams.

Royal Wildcat spurs an interesting thought

Looks like the 7th region is toughest at this point in the season

5 teams in top 20

10th region 3

12th region 3

11th region 2

9th region 2

regions 1,4,5,6,8 one each

5 teams in top 20

10th region 3

12th region 3

11th region 2

9th region 2

9th has 3? Holy cross, Holmes, Highlands

First bold...CC lost their leader in Gray. Ryle added the Ast girl. Very good athlete. And their PG is a year older. I know you can say they all are, but at the MS age, one year is huge...not as much of an impact at the HS age. And Ryle has a new coach! That alone is a huge difference!

Second bolded...You also have to take strength of schedule into play. Would you put an undefeated, lets say, Bellevue team ahead of CC if Bellevue was 5-0 with wins against SG, Dayton, Ludlow, Calvery and Villa? Do you take a 1-2 loss SEC team to play in the football finals over a undefeated team from a weaker conference. Strength of schedule and outcomes from the games played must be taken into consideration. At this point, I feel that Ryle is playing better than CC and their resume looks better. If CC is ranked, so should Ryle.

Yes, there are different ways to look at it. But at the end of the day, a poll comes down to who is playing better right now. Not who we think may have the best talent. Not what the outcomes were last year. Who is proven. IMO, Ryle's resume looks better than CC's right now...for this year.

I love CC, but just don't feel they are playing as good as they can and as good as Ryle at this point in the season. And it feels like the NKY coaches feel the same way. Are the Camels winning, yes. Are they playing like a top 25 team right now, you tell me.

And as far as the loss to the ranked team...Every team could put challenging teams on their schedule. But if you aren't competitive with them, then just having then on your schedule doesn't really do much for rankings. That's not a knock on CC. That's just saying that CC's loss was to a higher ranked team really doesn't hold much weight unless they were competitive with that team.
