Much like the Pete Rose debate... All I care about is can the guy coach and is he good to his kids? His personal life is none of my business and while he may be a piece of crap there, that's not my concern.

If you don't know Rush then you just can't comment. He is a great motivator and a great coach.

Is what he did right? I think everyone would agree that it wasn't. However, the dude does seem to be trying to make it right. I would not be so quick to throw stones at this guy. He is a little more of a public figure so his antics were called out, but everyone has some sort of skeletons in their closet that are luckily not brought out.

 

Would I consider the guy a role model? No. But I do think he seems to be trying to make things right. He can coach, players seem to want to play for him, and as far as I know about him (which isn't much) he seems to be doing things the right way now. Everyone deserves a second chance to make things right and hopefully he is taking advantage of his.

If he does this all the time to motivate and the kids love it cause he wins then NO their won't be a problem. In KY there might be a problem because if they did they would be fired. We are not a Football State, but some schools may use this technique to win games and the parents might be ok with it. Some schools in this state may NOT like this technique and the coach would be fired.

 

It seems at Colquitt Co. it is ok. I do not see the parents of this football player suing Rush Propst or the school. You want to know why? Because they know that the head butt was a motivational thing. HELL Rush Propst got the worst of the deal. It's not like Rush Propst put a helmet on and head butted a kid without the helmet.

 

I think this is really getting blown out of proportion. If this kid did not want to win and play for state titles and get head butted then he wouldn't go to Colquitt Co High School.

I thought that video was funny as hell! Cracks his own head open while headbutting a kid with a helmet on! Classic! I like it!

If you can't motivate a high school kid in the playoffs without head butting him, you aren't much of a coach. We know how he treated his family, but that's ok? No. No it's not.

Watch the ESPN special about him. It talks about his shortcoming with his ex wife and how he led a double life. Watch the Superintendent comment "He who has not sinned throw the first stone." But she went on and said "If you do such things like this again. I will say things to you only a mother should say to their son."

 

There is an agreement between them. If you help get our football program resurrected we will help you with your weakness in life.

And, I've never seen Petrino or Pitino headbutt a player like a psycho in the middle of a game. Put a finger in the face, talk about his momma, grab him by the jersey or facemask. But causing harm to yourself and drawing blood is flat out stupid...even worse, someone getting the whole thing on video and all of us discussing the good or bad.

Check out what Colquit Co was before he got there. If memory serves me correct, they were average at best, but always had great athletes. He has moved them to the top.

I would say the Colquit Co football program generates more that $1 million dollars for their program/school...that's why he gets these jobs despite what some may think of him.

The headbutt I can deal with. I don't think it's as big of a deal as it was made out to be. I want to make it clear that I do not condone his personal actions off the field. I was simply pointing out that in some cases (dare I say most cases), coaches have that "ego" where they think they can do whatever they want to do, even outside of the sport. There are some good, but there are a lot of bad as well. I don't think we should cast stones at a guy in Georgia when we have two at the same school in our own state at Louisville. As far as Pitino and Petrino never headbutting a player...Just because there is no video on social media, doesn't mean it never happened.
