December 10, 201510 yr Author I guess I'm going to have to disagree if your saying a police officers job is more physically demanding than a front line solider or special forces solider during a time of war. But I 100% agree with your second paragraph. Don't put words in my mouth, I never said a police officer's job was more physically demanding than a soldier, I assume it isn't even close. I am saying the measure the military is using to test women's ability is more of an issue in policing than it is in the military.

A police officer is more likely to have to go hands on and fight someone than most people in the military. I have many friends in the military that have never seen a day of combat.

The same reason conclusions arrived at by just plain common sense are considered sexist, rascist, or some other type of nefarious -ist. Who among us wouldn't have predicted the results conveyed in the article? Thus our electric costs go up. His company should pretest to screen out anyone that can't pass the OSHA requirements instead of hiring them first. This sounds like more political correctness to me. There are a whole host of issues where political correctness has tar-and-feathered traditional wisdom and plain old common sense so that if you go with what makes sense, you are no longer considered wise but bigoted. This is what happens when ideology trumps common sense and actual research. The military is no place for social experimentation.
