Zach Hall played DE for Male last season. But you'd be hard pressed to find a better MLB in the state IMO.

 

DT Tony Smyzer Jr. has to be included. His performance in the 6A title game was outstanding. So proud for a young man who was hospitalized earlier in the season.

 

Also TE Ethan Britt for Male was solid in moving the chains as well as a spectacular catch in triple coverage for a long score.

On defense, I would add the Charles brothers; Cody & Blake, all over the place.

Not sure you can leave Austin McElwain off the defensive side. He lead SW in tackles in the Championship game. But pulling 11 kids on each side of the ball from 12 championship caliber teams is a difficult task.

RT from Lafayette is a monster the other kid that plays left is a big kid but his footwork wasn't solid.

And I'm taking 62 and 51 from SW hands down they put a new meaning to Havoc!

And 62, Jacob Lacey is only a freshman. Kid is going to be a beast.

Updated list.... Keep in mind that we cannot put EVERY player from one team on the list. Also there were 12 teams participating in State. EVERY TEAM was led by someone in Tackles (often times a Linebacker), so that can't be the only basis for making the list. That being said, I also feel some of the kids you all have named that didn't make the list are amazing players as well. I have also changed the DT/DE positions to DL positions, so that we can ensure the best defensive lineman in general are identified.
