Taking the other side of it, all Pikeville has to do in the second half is execute on offense and they will win the game.

Three observations:

1). Pikeville is as good as I feared.

2). Total domination by Pikeville's line is getting Pugh a full head of steam before BW gets close enough to smell him. He is a load, but only slightly above avg speed. Pikeville's defensive line is forcing Fiegler to throw short with one downfield throw intercepted. These guys can play.

3). Going to be tough for BW to win this one dimensional game, and Pikeville has turned the game into that with the only rushing yards being Fiegler scrambling.

Tale of 2 Quarters

 

Beechwood

- Tigers found their mojo... short timing routes and letting Fieger move his feet. Beechwood most likely is one underthrown pass away from a 14-14 or 14-10 game.

- Tigers seemed to tighten the screw a bit with their secondary and have also settled in up front on D and have started to slow Pikeville's run game.

- Running game is non-existent for Beechwood outside of scrambles by Fieger

 

PIKEVILLE

- Have to be happy up 7, but also disappointed. After a nearly perfectly executed 1st Quarter on Offense the 2nd Half was marred by key dropped passes and at times seeming a bit too predictable.

- The first drive of the 2nd Half will be critical.

- Cody Charles was the best player on the field so far in the 1st Half. Couple big plays on Offense and playing great on D.

I also cannot help but feel Pikeville's kicking game and Special Teams may be the difference. Beechwood is nearly guaranteed the 40 yard line on kickoffs and Panthers maybe average 25 yards per punt.

 

Pikeville has shown no interest in fielding punts and have sacrificed yards on the roll as such

My speakers just broke

Beechwood needs to be consistent on offense and do a better job at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

 

Pikeville just needs to play their game and not try to get too fancy. Go right at Beechwood and mix in some play action. I don't think Beechwood can stop you.
