I read the the "old" definition by the FBI was in regards to deaths. Not sure what their new definition is.

 

By that definition you could have one person shoot another. LEO's respond and shots are exchanged leaving two officers injured and the suspect dead. That's not what I think of when I think mass shooting but that's for another thread. I know it's not your definition.

I don't think that's how they measure it. They count it as one shooter with 4 people shot including the shooter.

I don't think killed should be the threshold.

1 victim=1 person shot.

Shooter shoots 2 responding officers which = 3 persons shot.

Shooter ultimately shot and killed means 4 people shot.

 

Does it have to be 3 victims not a first responder plus the shooter? Complex equation they have here.

Not trying to thread hack or take away from yesterday's events. I think most would agree this definitely was a mass shooting regardless of whomevers definition is used.

Apparently he was at the party, left and returned. They think now that there were only two shooters and both are deceased.

 

I believe they said they were explosives found at the scene.

They think there was some level of planning. Not a spur of the moment shooting.

 

Police were there in 4 minutes.

 

Building was evacuated in 15 minutes.

 

Police discovered the male was at the party and left, they went to his house to investigate and that is when the pursuit started.

Interesting. There will be a lot of video out there in the coming days and weeks. Already seen videos being posted online by people that were in the area when this happened.

 

I'm sure the news helicopters have a lot of good footage as well.

I think local. They are leading the press conference. FBI is definitely there though.

Will be interesting to see how much this story changes/evolves in the next few days. The fact that he went to Saudi Arabia will be a big talking point I'm sure.(gas prices/possible Saudi ties to terrorism).

 

I'd suggest folks watch the press conferences and spare yourselves the speculation. Let the FBI and local law enforcement investigate and not listen to talking heads rambling for ratings. I've already read so many ignorant comments by people online just because of the suspects names. It will only get worse I'm sure.

Not sure if this is accurate, but I read I reddit that they left their young baby with grandparents and told them they had a doctor's appointment.

ATF say two firearms trace back to one of the suspects.

 

At least one of the others trace back to someone else.
