I LOVED seeing Ghostface Killah on the list. He's one of the best rappers no one ever talks about. Ghost is that man though.

 

His turn at the award show in "Walk Hard" was incredible. He's such a good rapper and then he's wrapping to a country song. Hilarious!

I'm ok with Lil Wayne there, and could stand to see him in the top six. He had at least two years unchallenged, when Kanye was at his hottest, and set the most trends, both in pop culture and hip hop.

Kendrick isn't a top ten artist, no matter how important you want his music to seem. 3Stacks might not have been the best rapper in his group. Lauren Hill is great, but lets not get carried away.

I won't get into Ghostface, because as ill as Wu Tang was, I could never really tell who was rapping outside of ODB (RIP) and Method Man, so I still have a high level of ignorance on that front. Rakim is historically great, though not someone I think, "man, I gotta go back and listen to Paid In Full RIGHT NOW!", yet I might spin that on my way home from work today.

Nas is in on the strength of Illmatic and the argument that It Was Written better, not to mention the Ether/Takeover fiasco.

As far as the top three go, they got Marshall right, though I'd swap Biggie (RIP) and Hova based solely on the longevity. While that may not be fair, it is something we must take into account.

As for those not listed, you could make cases for Aubrey, Ice Cube, and even Gucci Mane. In fact, I find the fact that Drake wasn't listed, yet there was a spot for Kendrick, laughable. Which of course leads to Tupac. I put him just behind Eminem, with the possibility of slipping further, unless he can think of a word that rhymes with enemy that isn't Hennessy. In ten years, Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick all move ahead of him, most likely, and Kanye squeaks into the 9 spot.

Snoop isn't pleased that the list left off Tupac.

While I'd certainly have Pac ahead of several on this list, most of his work has failed the test of time for me. Only a few songs I don't skip when they come on now...

No possible way you can actually listen to Kast and think Andre > Big Boi. Not possible...
