LIPTON BASH Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 US Intel Analysts: Our Terrorism Reports Are Being Altered to Fit Administration?s Narrative | Mediaite How can they ignore our intelligence assets to fit a narrative , it's insane.
cammando Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Nothing that comes from Obama's white house should be trusted by anyone..
jericho Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Nothing that comes from Obama's white house should be trusted by anyone.. I will give a big AMEN to that remark.
Getslow Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 The original report linked to in the article above made it sound like it was actually the military censoring its own reports before sending them to the White House. Did I misread it?
LIPTON BASH Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 The original report linked to in the article above made it sound like it was actually the military censoring its own reports before sending them to the White House. Did I misread it? It was high ranking officials in CentCom ordered to edit reports to fit a narrative coming from the WH. So the allegation someone at the white house is putting the boot on Senior intelligent officials who in turn are forcing analyst to censor reports.
Pioneer.Pride Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 So when the Eric Snowden's of the world leak intelligence because the American People are not being told the truth, do we consider them traitor or hero???? I'm really conflicted on this issue.

I'm really conflicted on this issue. These analyst are going through the proper channels. Huge difference. It's also not to say if I were in a position and felt uncomfortable I wouldn't be a whistle blower. But if I broke laws I would be prepared for the punishment.

Did I misread it? That's how I read it. I posted this link in the Obama/Syria thread in the CI forum. Exclusive: 50 Spies Say ISIS Intelligence Was Cooked - The Daily Beast
PurplePride92 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Some CENTCOM analysts, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, indicated the complaints are a “revolt” by the intelligence community whose role is to provide accurate reports of the US progress against terrorist organizations. Those officials contend the altering of their reports results in inaccurate portrayals of the US fight against ISIS and al Qaeda. When I read that I see it as Obama being given inaccurate intelligence. Not Obama's administration making up lies. Carry on though......
Jumper_Dad Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 That's how I read it. I posted this link in the Obama/Syria thread in the CI forum. Exclusive: 50 Spies Say ISIS Intelligence Was Cooked - The Daily Beast That article makes it sound like the reports are being altered to fit the narrative the administration wants to hear and report...that ISIS is weaker than they are and that we are winning the war on terror against them.

So instead of telling the truth to the administration they lie to them? That makes sense.
Jumper_Dad Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 So instead of telling the truth to the administration they lie to them? That makes sense. I agree...but that's what it seems to be saying in the Link you posted. It's almost like we can't give them bad news so we will make it sound like we are doing better than we really are. I've had bosses that never wanted the truth before, just wanted you to report everything was great even if it wasn't. Then when it inevitably went bad their out was...yhe never told me it was this bad.

Then when it inevitably went bad their out was...yhe never told me it was this bad. The link that LB posted referenced the link I posted. I got the same implications from both links. It doesn't matter what the bosses wanted. If officials are doctoring intelligence reports because they are afraid of what the boss will say then they need to retire. Or if they are doctoring reports to make the administration look inept then they need to be charged with treason. The ineptitude of the intelligence community goes back to when they told Bush that Iraq had WMDs only to come back after we attacked Iraq and couldn't find any WMDs that it was faulty intelligence. Folks on here have been killing Obama for how he has treated ISIS as the JV team. If the intelligence information he is being given is saying just that then what else can the man do? Faulty information because "That's what he wants to hear?" You kidding me? All of this information makes me want to reevaluate my stance on Edward Snowden. Maybe he is the real patriot and our intelligence community are the villains.

I'm really conflicted on this issue. Traitor. The narrative keeps changing to make Snowden look good. First he was championing our privacy rights. Now you are asking a different question. He is a traitor who stole secrets, is being harbored by the Russians. Don't you think deals were in place already? Everything else is a "Snowjob" to obscure the truth.

So you are OK with warrentless domestic surveillance, given that most terrorist communications are now encrypted and cannot be decoded in time to be relevant?
