Ben Carson and the Declaration of Independence

Now, I know that technically he is right that no signer of the Declaration of Independence had experience in the federal government but that is because there was no federal government at the time. However, as the link notes there were plenty of professional politicians who held elected positions that are the founding fathers of federal government. Therefore his insistence that these dudes had no political experience(much like himself) but yet still flourished is false.

Keep talking, Ben. Keep talking. :lol2:

Bless his heart.

He did specify "Federal".

Yes. I acknowledged that he is technically correct.

The report I saw showed that he added "federal" after the initial critique.

That is what I was thinking. It wasn't the best remark, but I get what he was trying to say.

I know that he is pushing back, claiming liberal media bias. But it won't be the liberal media that does him in, it will be his fellow Republicans, vying for the nomination. This is gonna be interesting to watch.

He has as much chance at being a good president and Trump has at being a good neurosurgeon.

Let's be honest. Carson has 0 shot and we all know it. Put aside his pyramid comments or attempts to boost his street cred.

I think it may have been Bill Maher who was making fun of Dr. Carson and said something similar to this and how political experience isn't needed to be a good president. Mayer said something like "I guess that means I can go be a good neurosurgeon even though I don't have the experience."

You and Bill Maher thinking alike. Who knew? :lol2:

Yes. I acknowledged that he is technically correct.

It's not technically correct , he was correct in how he said it ?

Technically yes. He is implying that the founding fathers had no political experience at the federal level when they became the leaders of the federal government. Of course they didn't. They invented it. They were career politicians they just didn't have federal political experience. Key words being federal politics. They were still professional politicians which is what he isn't and he is saying that's a good thing and using the founding fathers as to why that is good.

Horrible analogy.

I love when he opens his mouth. He's a riot. I can see why some Republicans(not the serious ones) love this guy
