This has developed into a good rivalry over the past three seasons. When these teams get together you never know what to expect.

With that being said, Central is superior in talent and should win this one, although I will say that it will be closer than most expect.

Central Hardin 32

Meade County 21

This one could be a classic. For those who are unaware, Meade held their own against the Bruins during the regular season, going toe to toe with Central until roughly the mid-4th quarter when a combination of blown coverage and good timed play calling for the Bruins iced the game away. After the game, some who watched the handshake appeared to see the two coaches exchange some words. I like Central Hardin to pull it out, but I'm feeling some fireworks in Cecilia Friday night when Meade comes rumbling in.

I think CH wins by 3 TDs.

Those two coaches are very good friends.. I highly doubt they exchanged words in a bad way.

This is not much of a rivalry. Meade has only lost twice in the past 14 years. Last year's regular season game was only won by 1 point in which Meade was missing some keys pieces. We see what happened in the championship game when those pieces were healthy. Rivalries take years to develop..On paper Central should win..but they shouldn't take Meade lightly even in a rebuilding year. Good luck to both teams Friday!!!

If you are not tied to the Central Hardin football program you wouldn't understand this rivalry. I have a lot of respect for Meade County, they are built for late fall, post season football with a good run game out of the wing T and a defense that keeps getting better every week. Central Hardin looks to be peaking at the right time and should win this one in a close, hard fought contest.

Really every game is a big rivalry. Hey it might be a big rivalry on central side. That's thier choice if they think Meade is a big rivalry. I'm just telling u that to Meade it really isn't a rivalry...winning two games in 14 years isn't a rivalry. John Hardin and for that point Horth Hardin are bigger rivals to Meade. We will see if central can become a sustained powerhouse in the district. My guess is no...

Using your reasoning, how can John Hardin be a rivalry game when they have beaten Meade 11 out of the last 12 years?

Central Hardin by 15.

Ummm, it was 21-7 at half and Meade scored 14 in 4th qtr and 7 of those were against freshmen and JV players. Wasn't as close as you make it out. Words weren't exchanged in a bad way....they coached together for 10 years. Look for this to be a tough fought game early but CH with experience should end up with a W. Will be a good one tho!

I believe Meade's much improved run defense is going to affect CenHardin's running game and so could cause a close game. Meade's improved offense is effective enough to get it done now also in a lower-scoring game.

Sooo, being a greenie alumnus, I have to go with my Waves (even though this limb looks mighty skinny...).

Roll, Waves, roll!!!

Responding to the definition of "rivalry" : I guess since Trinity has dominated St X in the last ten or so years the rivalry doesn't exist anymore? Don't tell that to either schools' fans and players! ;)

Something to think about...

Having been there in person, it should have been 14-7 at half. Central scored on busted coverage. Plain and simple. Game should have been a touchdown game at half. Central also didn't pull many of their starters at the end of the game...maybe 2-3. Again, I was there and kept track.

On the words exchange, there may not have been any tense words spoken, but from where I was standing after the game it seemed to get rather tense. And I wasn't the only one who got that impression.
