Could this play out like Paintsville/Pikeville last year?

Pulling for the Rams, but, awfully tired of seeing them lay an egg in the playoffs. Time to play up to there potential.. From a talent standpoint, Raceland can play with Paintsville and may even should beat them, but, they need to just go play hard and play with confidence and not turn a negative play into 3 or 4 and have that snowball effect.. Just play to your potential and you'll win this thing..

Paintsville will have the best player on the field.. Raceland will have the best collection of players on the field and that should prevail..

Two straight semi final appearances is laying an egg?

Gotta disagree on two counts...

 

2013, was supposed to be the year of the Panther in this region, Raceland beat Pikeville at home that year, then lost on the road to a better Williamsburg team, no eggs laid, Williamsburg beat us. 2014, again, all signs pointed to Pikeville coming out as region champs. Paintsville avenged an emberassing defeat to Pikeville in the regular season and Raceland recieved a gift of a home regional title game, winning their second consecutive region title, only to yet again fall to the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets in a game that was a dogfight until the 4th quarter when Wburg went off. No eggs laid, 2 district titles, 2 region titles, in 2 years, then knocked out by a better team.

 

Disagreement #2, while I would love to say you are right in saying that Raceland has the better over all team, I have to say that is incorrect. Apples to apples, their big 3 are better than our big 3. Kash, Phelps, and Trimble are all stronger, quicker, and more atheletic than Davidson, Snyder, and Christian, you can throw Howard and Jamison into that mix as well. Now, Im not saying our kids are bad ball players, they just arent as good as their best 3. BUT, the lines are comparable, and that is where games are won. Our secondary and LBs didnt tackle well or in general, just plaid their worst game of the season in the district game with Paintsville, a majority of that was a result of a tremendous and devistating loss to Fairview the week prior. You will see a different Raceland team in Paintsville this week. Will it be enough? I dont think it will, but the Tigers will know they were in a ball game, unlike last time when we might as well have stayed on the bus.

Pulling for the local team in Raceland but I think Paintsville will be a bit too much again. Although I think it will be closer than last time.

Love the passion but total disagree with the better collection of players. Trimble hasn't gotten a ton of pub but on the season he ave 14 yds a carry+scored ever 4 carries ave. Def 1 of top defenders in the state 6int's w 3 pick 6's. Phelps is as complete as any back in EKY. Strong, fast, big frame, ave 30yd catch. Should be in Mr football running next year. Paintsville is right with Raceland if not better up front. Kids like Morris+Allen under the radar but made plays all yr. Tigers might have best underclassman ilbers in EKY in Keaton.

Raceland is as steady as any program in EKY over last 25yrs. I expect they will come out and play hard. Should be a tough game both ways. I think eventually Paintsville's talent will prevail as long as they protect the ball and have no special teams blunders.

RAMS ... A Victory on Friday Night Starts TODAY, In Practice. Focus on the Great Game Plan that I know that your coaches will put before you. Work Hard Every Day ... should you Not Execute in Practice, you Won't in the Game. I am a believer in "you will play like you practice", you have a rare chance to redeem yourself and erase the embarrassment that was 3 weeks ago at Paintsville. I know that I don't think that Paintsville is 43pts. / 6td's better than Raceland but talk is cheap, so it's up to You RAMS, to prove it.

Now, should Trimble be the RB with all the speed that ran over through and by us three weeks ago in Paintsville then I Agree with you, imo he hurt the Rams as bad or more than anyone. Frankly, and this is no insult meant to Davis bc he is certainly an excellent QB but I am more impressed with him at LB.....kid is a beast, all over the field.

I would love to see Raceland pull out the victory here, but I just don't see it happening. I don't believe this team ever met their full potential. I haven't seen enough improvement in the defense over the last three weeks that would lead me to believe that Raceland can contain Paintsville's offense. I suspect the score will be similar to the first time around.

Been coaching at Cabell Midland in WV. Still chat scheme, ball w them about every week. Took this Fall off. Both my parents healthy so been traveling w them to watch my nephew (Trimble). Been a lot of fun seeing Dad so excited. He turned 73 last month so I've really enjoyed getting to spend quality time w him on Friday nights.

This game is one of those that the coach in me knows there's a lot of pride ️coming to town. My jr year Russell beat us by 40+. Playoffs was 6-6 we beat them double OT. Last yr Pikeville smoked Paintsville only to see a 70pt swing in playoffs. Raceland has been as consistent as anybody in EKY last 25yrs. They'll come to play Fri! I think Paintsville has way more speed this year but they can't just show up. Have to protect the ball+win special teams. As good as all of these guys are could make an easy argument Messer was as good as any. That kid was so talented! He was a tough one to replace. You guys give me a yell if any of you come Friday. Love to meet up for a few before the game.

The game this Friday will truly be won by the work in the weight room in the winter and spring.
