You just know that last year's Paintsville/Pikeville switch-a-roo is running through Chirico's head this week. I'll bet his players are getting a daily reminder that Raceland is in the very same shoes the Tigers were in last year. For that reason(along with superior talent), I don't see Kash, Trimble, Phelps & Co. allowing Raceland to pull the upset. It'll be closer, though.

One of the best things about NEKY Football is the passion that the fans and players have. Of all the teams I have watched this year there have been some very inspired teams (JC vs Ashland; Ashland against Russell) but none were more inspired than Raceland was vs Russell.

 

If the Rams want to beat the Tigers then they will need that type of intensity and passion. I will be pulling for the Rams, but if I were a betting man I am not sure I would bet on them. Paintsville should still have a chip on their shoulder about a chance to end the season of a team that ended theirs a year prior.

 

Either way hope we have a great game. Good luck to both. Hope both are injury free.

 

Raceland kids wanted that game (Russell) probably more than any on the schedule. Some were still bitter at Coach T.J. Maynard and wanted to beat him more than anything. That, coupled with all they heard from some Russell kids and fans was stuff like "You only beat Russell bc T.J. was your coach ...T.J. was just biding his time until Russell called etc." Also, certainly not here on bgp but there was a lot of really derogatory (way uncalled for) post about Raceland, their players and fans on another site/message board. I don't know but wouldn't doubt if some of those were posted on the Rams locker room and e-mails.

Also, your point about Paintsville's incentive is right. From the Tigers comments in the season pre view edition of the Ashland Daily newspaper .... they had the Rams game / games circled even then.

Yes, Raceland players are going to have to bring more, much more desire and intensity vs. Paintsville tonight than at Russell the week before. (and imo that may still not be enough). Paintsville imo is as good or probably better than anyone on the Rams schedule this season. Maybe Ashland would the exception and that's very close call imo.

Rams going to bring it tonight ! I got that feeling.

The 2015 Paintsville Tigers are the most disciplined, dedicated and focused bunch of young men I have ever seen. Strength, size and speed wise the Rams are outclassed by the Tigers. I hope for a injury free game for both teams. Good luck and safe travels Raceland and see you at Memorial Field. I see another beatdown in store for the Rams. 38-7 because Couch Chirico will pull the starters early.

If the RAMS can move the ball tonight & not give up cheap big plays, we’ll have a great game tonight.

Though I dont feel Russell doesnt have quite the backfield Paintsville has, I liked seeing our defense hold Conley in check and we did the same thing the following week against the 1200 yard rusher that Brossart had. I think the 5 man front we are using now has made a big difference. The question is, will Kash beat us with his arm? I think if we force Paintsville to throw the ball, we will have a better chance at winning this game. If we let them run wild again, we have no chance.

No stupid mistakes and we'll have us a ballgame.
