It's not out of the question for them to be in the semi-final game. If it comes down to them vs Wayne Co. to come out of the region, they had a very good game with Wayne Co. this season. Score was 21-14 Wayne Co.

 

Wayne was without their leading rusher Dalton Garner in this game.

According to the Ashland program we have never played Bourbon County our 1st round game. Can anyone tell me about them. Record? Style of play? Etc.

 

Watching them play Paintsville, they like to throw the ball. Not to say they won't run it but in that game it was probably 60-40 pass. They had a quick running back that was good at finding space. There QB was pretty good to but he's recievers dropped some balls on him. Pretty good team offensively but not much when it comes to defense.

You guys really think the east part of the state is that good???! I think you might want to look at the west side as being loaded with IMO 6 teams that could win the east side of the bracket. Look who has played who and who those teams play. District 4 is loaded. Region 2 is loaded. The survivor will be on a role and just might have something for south warren.

Not a John Hardin fan but look at who they played. 4 6A schools a 5A and power house 4A however, a weak district. Collins has played 2 6A 3 5A and Boyle Co. Plus strongest district in 4A. That gets you ready for playoff runs. Might not win them all but playing bigger schools makes a huge difference. Whoever gets on a run wins the thing. Remember the playoffs are a 5 game season.

 

I don't know who you are talking to but after looking at John Hardin's schedule I am less than impressed.

 

John Hardin has wins over 6A N. Hardin (3-6), Meade Co (2-8), and 4A Warren Central (3-6). Combined record of 8-20.

Losses to 6A PRP (5-4) & C. Hardin (6-3). Both of those losses are to good teams but the other games are by no means murders row.

 

I would argue Johnson Central who beat Lex Catholic (Same team that beat Boyle mind you) and plays Belfry played two better football teams than any win John Hardin has. Losing to bigger teams does not always make you better.

 

Ashland has beat George Washington (WV) and Ironton (OH) two teams that are as good if not better than any win John Hardin has.

 

Just because they are not some of the weaker 6A schools does not mean they are not quality wins.

A few things I can tell you about Bourbon County, they have the potential and the athletes to sneak up on someone and they have a really good coaching staff. If I'm Ashland, I wouldn't look past them by no means or they could very well be the team exciting the post season early!

Then you are also missing my point and wrong. Quality football teams are quality football teams regardless of size. Give me Lex. Cath and Belfry over any of those 6A schools John Hardin has a win over any day of the week. I would also say the same for GW and Ironton.

 

The size of a population in a school does not make quality football opponents. Quality teams do.

 

Based on your thought process Seneca would be better than South Warren, Johnson Central, Ashland, and John Hardin since they played 6 schools with a size of 6A.

Lex Cath is a quality opponent but they have one quality win this year and are not world beaters except for that Boyle Co. game and still trying to figure that out.

Belfry 8-1 traditional good opponent and top 3A team. good team to have on schedule but who is their best win? I like teams who play good teams when they don't have to. Some teams you have on your schedule might have a down year but usually there down years are also played vs. quality opponents. Ask Warren East about their 2012 playoff run. 13-0 and then plays quality opponent and bam...end of year.

I am just saying that I would rather face 6A Louisville Eastern over 2A Leslie County. Eastern will make me a better team.
