It's ironic that you of all posters had that response to someone calling something racist.

 

 

I understood clearly that your post was in response to conservatives being called racists for being critical of our black President. Your frustration at not being able to criticize the POTUS w/o being deemed a racist is understandable. However, there can be little doubt that a lot of the venom that has been spewed towards Obama over the past seven years does, in fact, have racist overtones. Not saying you personally or anyone in particular , but as Jimmy Carter said, there is racism behind a lot of the anti-Obama manure.

It runs through the veins of people you would never suspect of feeling that way. I think I could argue(as I have on here) that we all have racist inclinations that boil to the surface at times.

That's correct. There was a strong-anti Cathlolic vote in that election that nearly swayed the election to Nixon. My grandparents were two of them. Voting for Nixon over Kennedy was a mistake they took to their graves, a mistake they strongly regretted. They were convinced Kennedy would take orders from the Vatican.

I know you like to look at everything through your democrat goggles but the first people to broach the issue of Kennedy cowtowing to the Pope were fellow democrats in the primaries. Much as Hillary's people and Obama's religion.
