HC has two really good running backs but imo Justin Durham 21 for Lloyd was the best rb on the field tonight

That maybe true but I felt #21 was killin us. He was a bigger play maker IMO, 1 man highlight reel.

I agree! He is a great player.. I hope #3 is OK

No doubt! but I like it when #3 grts a chance to run.

I am totally amazed at how even HC stats for the game were. They owned time of possession by a wide margin. It is crazy that the Juggs had under 70 yards through the air, but over 300 on the ground. In the playoffs teams should be leary if facing either HC or LMHS.

That was when he got flipped or looked as though he was flipped over, correct?

Yes he took a helmet to the knee.

Yea, I figured that is what happen. It looked like it hyperextended and to add a helmet directly to it is just nasty. Prayers go out to the player, family and team. The Juggs know all to well about knee injuries. They have had what 4-5 in the past 2 yrs. Smh, sad thing to happen to a young man.

I think the loss of #3 on defense for HC could have been the story of this game. That and the HC QB play or coaches play calling. Give the ball to #21 - Barnes on offense & let him carry you. He ran through numerous tackles. The HC keeper seemed to call his own number more than 21's number and the HC keeper went down easy to simple arm tackles. The QB also had some terrible passes - 1 or 2 interceptions that were nowhere near the intended receivers.

I also have to question HCs choice to squib just about every kick off. They gave Lloyd good field position most of the night.

One final note on the game. HC better find some speed in the secondary and also players that can tackle.

That kinda goes together, cause my guess is their kickoff coverage might be the same guys that don't have a lot of speed and struggle tackling. So if kick it deep to those skilled returners and they break a couple tackles, that could be a crushing special teams TD

In high school, you see a lot of teams kick it short. Lloyd did it as well on Friday night. When the back return guys start cheating up, the kicker booms it over their heads for a touchback. Both teams did that.

So you are saying that Lloyd had a kid that could kick for a touchback? Where was he for the NCC game? They beat NCC by 10 points with a kicker that night. The Breds average field position was in Lloyd territory. Hopefully he continues kicking like that for the playoffs.

It was definitely a shock to see Eric Bruner kicking, but I have seen plenty of teams use a big boy to just boom it. Doesn't have to be pretty just get the desired results but he did both lol. They still didn't try a PAT though. My guess is they couldn't afford to pull Bruner off the line to kick and have another big body to plug in with all the injuries to the line. Hopefully this week they keep developing the kicking game and find some one to kick the PATs.

Do Holy Cross and Lloyd have kickers that can kick it to at least the 10 with some hang time? If not, you may as well squib kick. If the other other team has a dangerous return man, just kick it out of bounds inside the 35.

HC had 2 kickers warming up before the game that looked good. They chose to kick it short. Maybe that was their game plan cause Lloyd has several dangerous return men and they didn't have confidence in their cover team.

#15 Hamilton Scott does it all just like Kyle Fuller did (the #15 when HC won state). He is the QB, placekicker, punter and kickoff specialist. Scott has been 29 for 35 in extra points, has been 4 for 4 in field goals, averages 36.2 yds/punt (9 inside the 20) and averages 40.4 yds/KO with 9 touchbacks. He has a big leg when he needs it. Scott was specifically told to aim at specific Lloyd players or attempt to drop kicks into open spaces and have HC race Lloyd to recover them. The kicks were not considered onside because they were about 20-25 yards each. Once again, #77 Eric Bruner did the same thing. Bruner kicked it short most of the game and then hit one late over the heads of the return men that landed about the 10 and rolled into the end zone.

Bruner's kick were going back to around the 25-20, while Scott's were kicked almost going immediately into the ground right at the front line and many fielded by the front line which is only a 10 yrd kick not 20-25 yrds. Now that may have be by design but that wasn't close to what Lloyd did (this week). I just don't want anything taken away from Bruner on his kicks that were fantastic from what the Juggs KOs have been all season. It makes a world of difference making your opponents start deep in their territory and have to go almost the full length of the field.
