Lexington Catholic 28 Garrard County 16

Featured Replies

If I had made a preseason guess at this game, I would have thought this score would be about right. Garrard has had some really strange things happen this year that have been out of the control of all involved. Maybe things are beginning to settle down. If so, they could be a thorn in someones side in a couple weeks.

Has Garrard played a game all season with the entire preseason projected starting lineup?

Oh stop it, LexCath came out swinging and gave GC a standing 8 count 21-0 in the 1st. GC did not score till mid 2qrt and late in the 4th. Just because you run the ball 99.9% of the time, have tattoos at 16-17 does make you a tough ball club. Tough is when a running team RAMS it up the defense and the defense breaks but don't bends and denies a team from scoring, that's a tough team. Just ask #10 when he was about to score inside the 5 yard and got POP by LC #10 making him cough up the ball.

Also your 2nd TD, came off a reserve cornerback. Yeah that's something to cheer about. Your best player going one on one with a back SMH. Question should be asked, how are those broken ankles on those players that got shaked and bake on your sideline? LC #3 make you look like you were all playing on mud. So please stop it with the should have, could have statement. Take care or business and perhaps GC can make their way back in town.

True Garrard will beat Henry County and march back to Lexington with some more of their guys healthy. Could get interesting since Garrard plays JC style.

Style,YES but Johnson Central, they are NOT!!!! Not even close in talent or the physicality of JC.

Lex Cath scored 3 times in their first 7 plays. Garrard then goes on a 15 play drive scores and gets the 2 pt conversion. Lex Cath gets the ball and on the 1st play the ball is tipped by rec and intercepted. Then Garrard runs about 10 more plays and fumbles at the 1. The half is basically over. Then Garrard gets the ball to start the the 3rd.................Its hard to keep your foot on the pedal..............when you don't have the ball.

Not as big of a surprise to me.

I mentioned in a PM to gchs_uk9 a few weeks I could see this one having trap game potential. After the Boyle County game you had to know that LexCath wouldn't exactly be their sharpest, but even moreso what Garrard does best is where LexCath struggles the most.

Any team who can grind and play physical up front can give LexCath problems .

Nothing to be alarmed about for LexCath that they didn't already know.

You says "Oh stop it . ." So, we must!:isurrender:

That's exactly what they did, waived the white flag. No sense of urgency on the field. Took their time huddling and getting the play off. They were playing catch, needed to hurry it up a bit... And to take a knee in the end? C'mon man at least throw it deep and see what your passing game can do. JK

The next meeting is so much more important. We will just save that until then.:deadhorse:

Well, the kid you are talking about had 140 yards rushing against Catholic - I don't think he would say much about getting "popped." FWIW, the comments like the tattoo comment are what makes people so biased against LexCath. You can talk in coded language all you want - we know what you mean. It is uncalled for and, quite frankly, pitiful, for someone to say crap like that.

By the way, the 2nd TD didn't come against ANY corner - there was no one within 15 yards of that kid... Because LexCath had 11 in the box and still couldn't stop the run.

Either way, Garrard played a pretty tough game. LexCath won, pretty simple. There is no need to denigrate their kids on here. I haven't seen anyone on this thread bad-mouthing LexCath's players. Have a little class.

Wrong sir, look at live and look at the film.#38 was playing corner and your #8 snuck out of the backfield on #38 side of the field and he was lost. And as far as other team or people being bias about LexCath it's your opinion. I have seen and heard on this forum calling them SOFT, can't stop the run, one dimensional, run it the gut in their soft defense and so on and so on. So stop on that soap opera. As far as #10 and other being tatted up, were they not? Was he not popped hard and coughed up the ball. So all of you that dislike Catholic in general, for some, feelings are mutual. Calling them a soft team, worst team LC has ever had, can't do this and can't do that. Running clock, will be beat by 35 pts..... Please and to call me out and say my post was uncalled for, pitiful. Did you not read the post leading to the game sir? Yes comments about LC were as awful. And as far as putting 11 in the box and still can't stop the run, your are right, but where it really counts sir.... Is they stop them from scoring and I think that is where it matters.

First... I never have said anything negative about LC. They are a very good team. The fact is, they have a hard time stopping the run. That is not a knock, just an observation. Every team they have played that has any kind of rushing attack has been able to run the ball effectively - it is a plain fact. Might be scheme, might be personnel, might be style of play, but it is what it is. Spin it all you want, it will make it hard for Catholic win a championship in 3A.

The point about the tattoos comment is that is has absolutely nothing to do with the game... It was a statement about kids that don't fit your "idea" of something, or maybe the problem is they do fit your "idea" of something. Either way, no one on here brought up the Garrard kids' appearance, except you. I don't know what you meant by it, but I know what it sounds like, and I don't like it one bit. I haven't seen anyone poor-mouthing LC's players' specifically, and if I did, I would call them out, too. Either way, one negative comment does not make another any more excusable.

And with that... I bid a farewell to this thread.

Looks like Lex Catholic is in for a ball game when Garrard comes back to town.
