Restructuring the SEC

I'd like to add Ohio State and Louisville

Yuck.

Do we really need divisions? What purpose do they serve? Why can't they take the 2 best teams and put them in a championship game. That makes the most sense to me.

Well with every team not playing every team unbalanced schedules could have two teams with the best records and not having to play LSU, Bama and Florida in a given season. Not really a fair way to do it. You almost have to do it this way, even if the 2nd best team is in the same division as the best team...they at least had a chance to play them on the field and beat them.

I like the one division idea as below and take the two best teams:

w-l in league, if tie RPI.

Alabama

Arkansas

Auburn

Florida

Georgia

Kentucky

LSU

Memphis :whistling:

Mississippi

Mississippi State

Missouri

South Carolina

Tennessee

Texas A&M

Vanderbilt

Great tweet from Saturday...

Memphis smacking Ole Miss will only lead to Bianchi writing a column about how UCF and USF should be in the SEC instead.

I just don't like Bama and LSU being in the same division. The past 10 years these 2 teams have been the most consistent. I think these 2 teams should have the opportunity to play each other for the championship. Instead we get Bama and Missouri it feels like every year. Florida is back so that helps the East, but one good team in the east vs. the Bamas and LSUs of the world. It just doesn't seem right to me. Would anyone be opposed to no divisions within the conferences and instead just have the 2 best teams play for the championship. That's what I would like to see nationwide. Same problem in almost every conference. The three best teams all play in the same division in the B1G too.

You are forgetting Auburn, its been a 3 horse race in the west for a long time in Bama, Auburn and LSU, and 1 team out of the east in Florida. I guess you count Missouri, but lets be honest the East was so bad, someone had to come out of that side of the division.

I used Bama and LSU because they are more consistent than Auburn. Auburn is either a National Title Contender or Mediocre no in between. Bama and LSU are there just about every year. The east lack of competitiveness is precisely the reason I think they need to get rid of divisions and have the two best teams play a championship game or a at the very least restructure the divisons.

I say add 2 more schools and have 4 divisions.

Each division winner plays in a 4 team playoff for SEC title.
