2015 Bengals

OK, this team is 6-0, and let's just play the ' What If game " Let's say this team goes 14-2, 15-1, 16-0, and gets beat in the first round of the playoffs yet again, does Dalton need to go? I'll start, and say 100% YES!!!!. I really think if Cutler, Tanihill, Rivers, Bortals, any of the 15-10 ranked QB's had Cincy's weapons, they all could do what Dalton is doing. Let's not get caught up in the regular season so much, because ALL that really matters is winning in the playoffs, and that's the bottom line. remember Dalton HAS NEVER won a playoff game yet, just sayin.

100% NO! Cutler and Rivers have had many great weapons for years and haven't done anything special in terms of playoffs... Dalton has been a part of 4 straight playoff runs and on their way to a 5th... His rookie season was without any training camp, no veteran QB to show him anything about being an NFL QB and he entered with a first time NFL offensive coordinator... Last year, no Eiffert or Jones all year, no Green in playoffs, first year working with Hue Jackson, etc.

And quite honestly, in the 3 of the 4 playoff losses... I think the defense was more at fault than the offense.

Add the fact that the AFC North has been one of the best divisions in football, Ravens and Steelers both have recent Super Bowl wins... Dalton has far exceeded my expectations when he was drafted.. Quite frankly, has accomplished a lot more than Carson did here and he was a number 1 pick...

If the Bengals won the Super Bowl, people will say it was in spite of Dalton... Personally, I like winners... And he's never had a losing season at any level of football. That says a lot to me. Does he have the best arm? Nope... Does he run like a healthy RG 3? Nope

Does he win? Yes!

We all know how hard it is to win on the road in the NFL... I believe Dalton is one road win away from setting an all-time NFL record for most road wins by a QB in his first 5 seasons...

That speaks volumes to me.

Amazes me how people can't just enjoy winning... At least Dalton enjoys winning and that's good for Bengals fans.

It's clear you're a complete WHo-Deyer, IF you put Rivers, Ryan, etc. in the same position as Dalton is in, they are every bit as good, if not better. You say you're all about winning, my question is winning what? Dalton in 4 playoff appearances, ZERO wins, that's a loser, not a BIG GAME QB, and never will be. You said River's has had a lot of pieces over the years, which he has, but he also has won in the playoffs. My advice to ALL the Who-Deyers is demand more from this team then just a good regular season, because it has yet to show anything in the playoffs.

You lost me at 16-0.

I'd argue that Cutler had even better weapons last year with Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, and Forte. What did he do with those?

Oh , I want to win more and so does Dalton and the Bengals coaching staff...

I'm saying, you don't get rid of a QB for not winning "a" particular game when he is a proven winner in the NFL... Hard to win regular season games too. What if the Colts would've dumped Manning after losing his first few playoff games?

Cutler doesn't even win regular season games... Please, he has a great arm, but he's not a great QB...

Dalton is young, has never had a losing season, has been durable and if you haven't noticed, he has a desire and a work ethic to get better... I say we enjoy the fruits of his hard work and the Bengals' patience in his development. Don't let him go somewhere else and win for them.

I'd argue that Cutler had even better weapons last year with Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, and Forte. What did he do with those?

Agreed. Cutler wouldn't get the Bengals to the playoffs as Dalton has done IMO.

This team will only advance through the playoffs if Dalton and Geno stay healthy. Let me say thos. If Dalton were to hit the market, he would break the bank. Because FA QB's of his caliber do not become available.

One last thing Bengals fans... We are talking about the "Bengals"... Not some storied franchise with lots of post season success... The Bengals have been a historic joke in the post season, that includes when they had Palmer, Esiason and Anderson.

Anderson and Esiason each had "one" good playoff run in which they made it to the Super Bowl...once.

I think Esiason is the only QB to win a playoff game when they didn't reach the Super Bowl, could be wrong but pretty sure.

So, in other words, as much as people don't want to hear it or admit it... If Dalton wins a few playoff games in the next 5 to 6 seasons, just a few... He goes down as the most successful QB in Bengals history.

So, before you start running a guy out of town, know your Bengal history. Dalton is in elite QB status when it comes to wearing a Bengals uniform.

I wouldn't say it's a 100% yes he needs to go. I'd say it really depends onhow he plays in the big game(s)

IF he has a pretty good game in the playoff game (he hasn't yet) and the defense cost us the game per say, then no we don't need to get rid of him. Maybe something finally clicked in Dalton this year and he has figured it out. Hopefully this Dalton is the Dalton we get the rest of his career then I'm the first to eat crow because I was one who wanted him gone 2 years ago.

If this is the Dalton we can count on then he's a keeper. Serve me up a big bird and throw some Tabasco sauce on it because I'm eating a steady diet of Crow.

IF you put Rivers, Ryan, etc. in the same position as Dalton is in, they are every bit as good, if not better.
Matt Ryan went 13-3 one year and lost their first playoff game and he has not been back to the playoffs since despite having 2 of the best receivers in football and a steady course of running backs and NO ONE calls for his neck. Take your Dalton bashing somewhere else because no one wants to hear it here. The Bengals are 6-0. Be happy for them. The playoffs are over 2 months away. Why can't we enjoy the wins right now and deal with the playoffs when we come to them. This thread is useless.

What are you talking about? Matt Ryan has been to the playoffs numerous times.

You also don't live in Atl or Detroit or any othe NFL city so you don't know what their fans are saying about their QB.

The Steelers are coming to erase your dreams!

The last time Ryan went was 2012 and they were 13-3 and lost their first game. I didn't say anything false. Also Dalton has been talked about his under achieving in the playoffs on a national level. Colin Cowherd notably mentions his underachivement frequently. On First Take every time they mention the Bengals they say they don't trust them just yet. Matt Ryan just lost and he threw 2 interceptions and you don't hear anything nationally about him on ESPN. But god forbid if the Bengals lose Dalton will be questioned all across the country.
