I was at the game and I agree Lloyd should of won that game. holy cross also could of came away with a win also vs NCC. this game will be a fun one to watch.

To win this game Holy Cross needs to do everything they can to get to that 300 yard rushing mark the people in this thread are talking about. The lower the rushing total for Holy Cross, the less likely they are to win.

Achieving a stat goal is "second fiddle" to getting the "W". But that's just me.

Lloyd had 169 yards rushing to Beechwood's 149. Stringer had 121 yards Slusher had 46. Lloyd had 385 total yards to Beechwood's 325.

 

I would say most the rushing yard came when beechwood was in it prevent defense it 41-14 . Lloyd couldn't run the ball till 4th qt

 

I believe this weeks match up will say all that we need to know about this Juggs program. This game will set the tone for the playoffs (Not looking over or past Harrison County so no disrespect). The Juggs for all intents and purposes had the W over NCC and gave it away when they decided to throw instead of riding to victory on their thorobred Durham. This is Sr. Night for the Juggs and all eyes will be watching to see how Lloyd responds this week after self destructing. NCC was the biggest ground game to air threat we have played IMO. Smith had 32 carries for 150ish and 1 score I believe. The Breds QB put the ball on target every time and the WRs/DBs battled it out. The Juggs D did get caught napping a time or 2 but the run D has been working thus far. I don't think anyone who has truly watched Lloyd this yr will disagree on this statement. The 2 keys to victory are simple. 1) Can not allow teams to start drives from their own 40. 2) Costly turnovers and mental lapses in judgement have to go. It is to late in the season for those to keep happening.

IMO Lloyd plays more of a finesse brand of football. I'm in no way implying that Lloyd is soft, rather that they tend to rely on the big play passing game. HC provides a different kind offense to defend. HC can play smash mouth out of the spread offense because HC has a few RB's over 200lbs that can get to the 2nd level in a hurry.

Sir, you are right I stand corrected. 32 carries 137 yrds and 3 TDs. I thougt the others were the fullback.

The one time I saw HC play this season I do not remember them running out of the spread more than 3 or 4 times. I am asking this because if HC averages over 220 rushing yards a game and if say half this total is out of 4 wide receiver sets then IMO, that is pretty impressive.

Same goes for Lloyd.

I think Lloyds Defense tightens up once opponents reach the red zone. I can envision HC getting a bunch of rushing yards (250 yards) and still loosing to the Juggs by 10-14 points. Lloyd can score quick and often, and if the "good" Juggs show up I simply do not see HC keeping pace. Now if the mistake ridden Juggs show up and HC gets a lead then their Ground game which eats up the clock will limit Lloyds opportunities and wear down the Juggs D which puts extra pressure on Lloyds offense to put points on the board.

However, IMO even without a kicker ( for extra-points) Lloyd simply has too many weapons.

Dude what is your problem? The Newport game was the last game HC played and his highlight made the news... I could include the Scott or NCC game highlights but I was just replying to someone who liked the name Xavier Abernathy but hadn't seen him play.

 

With that being said why the hell do you even care how support HC football and advocate for some of their players individually?
