Final

All that d-1 talent ...cough cough ?? What is goin on in Versailles. New coach. All the d-1 hype ? An can't win. Hope these colleges are sure of what there getting. Because with all the hype an talent they are suppose to have. Sad that play like this every week

Quick to judge before knowing the facts JBin! Obviously the college coaches know what they are doing.

I'm with JBin though. How do not score more than 13 points with three division 1 offensive linemen?

Because Woodford went for a brand name rather than actual coaching experience.

This is a fact.

Woodford has some big time players on offense.

They have an offense many coaches would love to have.

To only score 13 points is a shame.

You guys are missing the real problem. Giving up 50 points is the problem. You can not ignore the point totals that they gave up in the games that they lost. There were games that Woodford scored 28 points and still lost.

As far as the coaches I think you guys have no idea how many hours and the effort it takes to take over a program. There was a losing culture in Woodford County long before Dennis pulled in that parking lot. Those kids and that community got a lot of attention because of the head coaching change and the buzz of those lineman. Logical thinking tells me that this isn't a quick fix kind of coaching opportunity. So exercise some patience people, or apply for the job.

And as far as those 3 young men who are getting the attention on the OL. I can't believe people think 3 lineman meant or that it should mean that they were going to walk over people. I think it's magnified because of the recruiting coverage and the Internet but let's be honest, I hear and read a little jealousy in these threads.

I think some of those studs are hurt. I also think that Dennis Johnson's coaching experience/ability is much greater than he is given credit, because he was such a talented player.

He is also the coach's son of one of the all time great coaches, Alvis Johnson. I know Harrodsburg had players. No one wins without them. But, I also know first hand how tough it can me in a small city school to have consistent success and how tough it is to stay in one place for a long time. Coach Johnson did both at a very high level for an extended period of time.

I would bet Dennis draws much from his dad, like I did with my dad when I started coaching. Woodford made a great hire and they will be fine. I base that statement on his proven success developing players and what he gained from his Dad..... playing for him, growing up in their home, and having his help now. To me, his NFL/college success is extra, but not as important as the above.

All great points. Woodford is suffering from the injury bug! 6 starters out. Like previously said, first year coach will have his trials and failures. He has run into several obstacles like any other first year coach would! Even though the schedule and scores don't show it, Johnson is developing these young men, not just the 3 "studs" into better players and young adults. Several of them will go on to play at the next level, whether it be D1,2 or 3. Johnson makes a great effort to promote his players and get the best for them! With the rate of young men into drugs and end up in court or PRISON, he is looking beyond the game.

Saving them from the tough streets of Versailles. :lol2:
