Male 27 St. Xavier 24

So you honestly believe that if X gets a second shot at T and Male they will be able to get enough turnovers and foolish mistakes to have a chance to win. I see why your holding your hopes on this considering the offense numbers they generated against arguably the best 2 defensive teams in the state. I guess if my team wasn't Good enough to win straight up, I would use whatever bright side I could find from these 2 games to use to prop them up.

hogg you made me laugh. I have watched this X team play all year and if you feel they have no chance you are sadly mistaken but good thing is your opinion and mine for that matter doesnt make a difference either. The field is where it will be settled. Keep beating your drum stating X has no chance

Anything can happen, but I can put it this way, Male and T will be favored in the second meeting. Male and T are more talented and better coached. On paper I give the nod to Male and T, but your right, they have a chance, these are kids and anything can happen.

When a team plays as poorly on offense as X did in those 2 games and lost by a total of 8 points I would say they stand a fighters chance. They find ways to hang around.

Never underestimate the X MEN. Its been a season of improvement by them. Each week getting better and better. In 4 weeks I will say they will be ready for the MIGHTY GREEN MACHINE know as the only Private/ Public school in the sate of KY...;) sorry couldn't resist. Go Tigers

Male has to prove if they can win being the favorite. They have been the best team the past 3 years can they pull it off this year. With Male it looks like they are going to be in this position at least for another 3 years. They are bringing in the talent right now.

I would disagree with the "gifts". Trintiy was put into that situation of punting. What hadn't Trinity done on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down? Make a first down. Who is responsible for that?

Until the Male game, they didn't have to punt hardly at all. I can tell you that the St X long snapper practices on the sideline during each offensive series.

Now Trinity tried to play coaching games with Jailen Reed staying in the game acting like you are going to go for it on 4th down at the end of the 1st half. Jailen Reed is a wonderful runner but blocking for punts? He got blown up by the St X rusher on a good snap and the slow back up punter got the punt blocked.

I think that Trinity has to look long and hard about why they didn't make adjustments at halftime and got shut out both in the Male game and the St X game after halftime and worry about beating PRP in the first round.

Male has most talent by far and their defense is amazing. St X completed a wheel route to the back out of the backfield for 2 big gains and TD against Manual and the Male middle linebacker ( Kuerzi ) covered that play on the sideline all night. Great recognition and coverage.

For those that didn't get to watch the Male St X, it was a very entertaining, well played game with big plays on both sides and hard hitting. For St X, the starting QB got nicked up on the first drive of the 2nd half. He came back in but got hurt again but Male lost Wakefield, Gentry, and Britt after legal hits from the St Xavier defense. I was really impressed with Britt and Marcus Jones. Zachery Smith and Jones both made tremendous catches going over the defensive back and coming down with the catch.

So X only had 1 offensive TD? It sounds like Male will be fine. One bad game with 5 turnovers and they still win. Every team stumbles. It's how you answer that counts.

Y'know, punting is not uncommon. It occurs in any game where a drive doesn't end in a score. I fail to see how putting the ball on the two yard line and in the endzone are anything other than gifted points.

The St. X defense did well to stop the Trinity offense, but they did nothing to cause the mistakes of the long snapper that lead to those points.

In a game where male's offense (who has carried their season) decided to take a night off, their defense stepped up and looked good. They definitely struggle dealing with a multi faceted QB though. St. X defensive is no joke. They looked good. I can see St.X turning some heads in the playoffs. Their record does not give them justice.

The Tigers played without their star QB who was injured very encouraging!

I thought he played half the game before getting hurt?

The St. X QB played all but 3 series of the game, including the entire first half.

The backup QB (Chitwood) performed fairly well but is not as athletic as the starter.

Trust me, Trinity is only worried about beating Ballard at Ballard for the District Championship tomorrow night.... Then they'll focus on whoever is next, presumably PRP. But until then, they're focused on 1 game at a time.

Wish I could've gone to the X v Male game, got to listen to the 2nd half on the radio, sounded like a great game, incredible job by the X defense making big plays & keeping it close!
