East 43 West 0 (2006 NKY East/West All Star Game)

Featured Replies

Couldnt go tonight but curious how everyone did. Who stood out?

It was a masacre. The East was winning 36-0 in the middle of the 4th when I left. Guidugli had 2 tds and Diehl looked really solid also. The whole East D did an outstanding job tonight.:thumb:

East won. I think it was 45 - 0. Not sure of the 45, definate on the 0.

First touch Diehl to Canafax

Second TD Diehl to Guidugli

Third TD Cecil to Guidugli

Fourth Cecil to Canafax

Fifth I think Cecil to Thomas Not sure on this one.

Sixth Cecil sneak for TD

I left with about a minute to go and the score was what you would have thought it would be East 43 West 0

East QB's Sam Diehl NCC and Chase Cecil threw TD's passes to Ben Guidiugli HHS (2), Josh Camafax NCC (2) and James Thomas of Newport (1) and Tony Roach CovCath kicked a 44 yard FG and all but two PAT (forgot who scored the other TD).

Really not much of a game at all as the East totally dominated both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Had a nice time but....I think I got a more excited as they announced the Beechwood Baseball score from time to time......

The west didnt start really throwing the ball until the 4th quarter. Pretty sad too because the recievers were wide open in the deep flats but by the time the coaches realized that, the game was out of hand.

It was a pretty sloppy game other than the East passing attack as far as offense goes. Neither team had much of a running game, though Johnny Pop (CC) and Lincoln Adams (BEL) had some nice carries. The OL play on both sides was ehhhhhhh. Sean McGee (CCH), we all know you had a TD on defense, perfect read. I'd bet you catch that int 9 out of 10 times. ;)

Sam Diehl (NCC) and Chase Cecil (HHS) both did very good at QB. Ben Guidulli (HHS) and Josh Canafax (NCC) made some nice catches. James Thomas (NPT) TD catch and run was all his effort and refusal to go down. The west DB's didn't match up well.

Sounds like the East had most of the fun. But what a great event for the boys from N.KY. (Good Luck in the Future!)

Hmm i remember someone saying this before when predicting the outcome and matchup :D But here is my game recap:

East came out moving the ball up and down on the west in the first half but just couldnt stick it in the box despite being on the one yard line...although i thought guidugli was in on his first catch. East got a score with about a minute to go in first half.ALL NCC hook up Diehl to Canafax.

7-0 at the half.

Second half the East came out and totally dominated. Canafax to Guidugli made it 13-0. (missed pat0 Then Cecil to Kanafax made it 20-0. I believe MAtt Sauerback then got a int the very next possession for the west which set up the cecil to thomas td (nice run after catch by shakes to score...all his effort on the td). 26-0 East. (missed pat). Then it got ugly. Sam Diehl made a nice scramble to hit Ben Guidugli for about a 60 yd td pass. (33-0 East). Next drive for the East was stopped by the West D but Tony Roch made about a 45 yd field goal to make it 36-0 East. Next East drive Cecil and co. drove down the field and on the one yard line Cecil snuck in behind center to cap off the scoring and final of 43-0 East. Then on the kickoff, Tony Roch kicks it through the uprights (amzing kick off).

The East started out slow but in the end rolled as expected. I dont think the West crossed the 50 yd line except for the end of the game on a deep pass and i think they only had maybe 5 first downs, but it doesnt help when they were starting from their 20 every drive because of Roch putting it in the end zone every kick. Highlight of the game IMO was when Justin Smith flat out layed Anthony Kammer of Boone Co out...i know when i saw it it was definetly a   ...Overall not much of a game but a good experience for both squads to play one last game with and against their high school buddies. :thumb:

What game were you at?

Seriously?

They tried throwing the ball early but the qb would either not have time and be rushed or the East Db's would break up the pass...thats why they didnt pass til the end of the game. I know #26 from Highlands (Schishler sp?) had a nice break up that was a for sure td

Sounds like an unfair split to me.:creepy:

The west never had a chance...it was over from the beginning. There was Just too much talent and athleticism on the East squad this year.

Actually--it wasn't over until the 3rd quarter.

It was 7 to 0 at the half.

And the score was right before the half.

:thumb: you know what i mean though...the East had no problem moving the ball at all in the first half but just couldnt put it in the box. until right before the half. I guess i should say the west should have stayed in the locker rooms after halftime because the east came out fired up and exploded on them for 36 points.
