Bourbon Basketball Job

Featured Replies

I heard that former Brown assistant Juan Byars (a former Paris Greyhound) turned down a teacher position at Paris to stay at Bourbon ... the reason could be that he may be named the next coach of the Colonels.:thumb:

I heard from an excellent source yesterday that Robert Hammonds is NOT interested in the Bourbon County job. Anyone heard anything positive on a hiring?

DAVE

I read in the paper Hammonds just got married, maybe he would be better of stayin' at Bracken County a couple more years then think about other coaching venues.

I heard the players were so disappointed with last season that they do not want who is being mentioned, can't say I necessarily blame them either...

Who do you mean being mentioned as coach? Byars? Did he coach the JV last year or was he just the Varsity assistant.

He is not married yet. It is next Saturday.

Not so sure about the logic of staying just because he is getting married. He is a good, young coach that a lot of people should have interest in.

Congrats to Hammonds. He would be a great pick up for anyone!!

Yep, pretty sure he as the JV coach last season....

Who knows what's going to happen, but if they do not hire someone with some coaching experience, it'll be disappointing. I really dont think this should be considered as an "entry" level position this time around....

I'm not sure the job would be worth the trouble of putting up with some of the parents who are uninformed and complete idiots, however if it paid well, I'd take it...

I agree, I dont see him leaving Catholic....

I had someone bring up the name of Robert Hammonds from Bracken (former assistant under my all time favorite Robert Ward), and I tend to think it would be a decent hire.

I'd say 4k would be sufficient for a college soph, would you take the job for 4 figures????

I'd take it for 4 grand. It'd would also be worth my time to see the face of some of the parents I routinely "scumicide" on a normal basis when they found out who would be coaching the team....

Ok he's getting married next Saturday. But the "logic" I'm trying to express is sometimes marriage brings about change in how you live and where and what type of work you do. His fiance may be from another city or state and wants to live where she hails from, sure he may comute back and forth but there's a difference of opinion on this.
