Why were the lights on at today's Bengals game?

Featured Replies

Got free tickets to the Bengals game today.....BTW it's the 1st game I've seen without having to work as part of a fund-raiser, since a Bengals/Dolphin game in 1994.

Anyway.......can someone tell me why they had all the lights on at the top of the stadium? There was not a cloud in the sky the whole game........don't get it. :idunno:

By rule I think they have to be on for all games regardless of weather.

It's so the drunks can find the stadium...they just keep walking towards the lights.

That's the dumbest rule EVER!!!

I've never heard of this rule and if true it must be a newer rule.

I dont think its new, if you ever watch games on TV the lights are always on in the Day time.

I've always noticed that they are on, although I haven't been to a game in probably 4 years now. I assume the high power lights take a while to turn on, so they probably turn them on early in case the weather goes from 70 and sunny to 50 and cloudy/raining/dark by 4. And after living in Ohio, I can attest that that is definitely possible. :)

They're always on, probably weather prevention related.

I'd say they are a chore to turn on and it likely takes time for them to get to full force. I would imagine turning them on before games eliminates any potential problems of light disarray by kicking them on during the game.
