Why would Midland scrimmage GW when they play in the regular season on Oct 23? Their two reported scrimmages were against JC and St. Albans the following week, that is unless you let something out of the bag.

GW may have scrimmaged Huntington High instead of Cabbell, not sure. I just remember seeing the score prior to the season start. I know GW scrimmaged one of the Huntington schools and it wasn't spring valley, so I imagine it was actually HHS then. Sorry for the confusion. Do you know the score of the St. Albans scrimmage?

Wedge. Take the 5th street exit and head south, its located at the golf course in lavallette. Its a short drive from the exit. I haven't tried it yet but everyone I know that has says its excellent.

Thanks. Was curious because Ashland and GW played to the wire, then the following week GW put 87 on St. Albans. You can't guage the caliber of teams that way, but I was just curious.

Most times yes but all things equal, team that wins TO battle usually will win the game. Team that adjusts the best to the weather will win. Teams that run the ball have a huge advantage tonight over teams that throw it.

You've got to respect these two heavyweight programs and their coaches for seeking out this game with one another. I applaud Belfry's ambition for playing a top ranked school from another state with triple the enrolment. Assuming both teams emerge injury free, this game will only make each team stronger.

 

With the roll that Belfry is currently on, it's hard to pick against the Pirates.... but, I think I'm going to anyway. Midland has beaten last year's WV 3A state champion and state runner-up each of the last two weeks. They're the top dogs in the Mountain State and they're playing at home.
