If true, good riddance. The kid is a great talent, but if UK wants to continue to move the program in the right direction Stoops can't let the athletes run the show.

 

Boom missed an easy assignment in the Mizzou game and when he was pulled out and talked to about it he appeared to throw a tantrum and never returned to the game. He also did not go out with the team post game and shake hands. It was mentioned that Stoops was gonna have a sit down with him this week and it appears (if the rumors are true) that it did not go well either.

 

I hope the rumors aren't true and he's still a wildcat. Even if they are true hopefully this is a wake-up call for him and he gets his act together wherever he ends up.

Is his dad the one who wears the Blue/white pylons on blue shoulder pads, with blue wig, and a full "game day" outfit to the games? Looks like he needs to grow up and be a dad/parent rather than an attention seeking cheerleader.

 

He was at the Cat Walk prior to the game leading the cheers from inside the roped off area, so he must have had at least a "look the other way" approval from UK. He seems to be more of a Boom fan than a true Wildcat fan. They need to tone this guy down alot!

I don't have a problem with this at all. Everyone should be so lucky to have a parent who cares so much about their kids and not afraid to show it. I don't know of him or "head case", but I don't think this makes him a head case. There may be other things though.

Don't personally know a thing about the dad or the son. Was just speculating that if indeed Stoops did get in his grill about making a mistake and he then sulked a bit, it could be because he'd never heard much criticism before, only praise?

I don't get how you make the conclusion that the dad is a cheerleader instead of a parent. Seems like a huge leap.

 

I'd hate to think that people thought I wasn't a good parent because of an overreaction or a poor decision by my child. Kid made a mistake. Not sure how we can assign blame to anyone besides the kid.

Player made a bad play, didn't respond well to the coach's reaction...might be the first time he has ever had a coach really get on him for a bad play. Until it has happened, you do not know how to react.

 

Everyone goes to work with the intent of doing a good job and one day the boss calls you out for not doing something he deems acceptable, you went skipping back to your cubicle whistling, and when you got there decided you were going to order lunch for everyone and pay for it yourself. More than likely you go back sit down, not in a happy mood, analyze exactly what happened, and learn from it. How long it takes you to get over it depends, especially if it is a new experience.

 

Boom will be better off in the long run both on and off the field.
