Very impressive.... the case for #1 is strong

Wow. More than just a one man show in Paintsville.

Strong performance. I know this isn't vintage Bourbon but still a blowout.

Figured this would have been closer; Paintsville definitely making some noise.

Paintsville is growing in confidence, and other players are stepping up...bad news for the rest of class A football.

This was a statement given by Paintsville. BUT, Bourbon is giving up 40+ points per game and of the teams they have played, only Paintsville and Southwestern have winning records. So its hard for me to put them on "that level" just yet. Raceland is improving and Fairview suprised me tonight as well. One more week before the district battle begins. Goina be a fun October.

Good win for Paintsville. As others noted, Bourbon County is average at best, but still a nice win over a bigger school opponent. This win isn't any better than Beechwood's win over Holy Cross.

Bourbon is not very good... but Bourbon..however inexplicable as it seems... has a win over a pretty highly ranked 5A Southwestern

 

Holy Cross has wins over a bad Holmes team and a Walton-Verona team that may not be Top 15 in 2A

 

I cannot say with a straight face that those two teams are the same as such.

 

It also must be noted that Paintsville sits at a perfect 6-0 and boasts a win over the #3 Pikeville team

 

Beechwood has a blemish and their best win right now appears, however unliekly, to be Lloyd Memorial

This district is going to be a blood bath. Whoever it is, Raceland, Paintsville, or Fairview is going to be battle tested come playoff time. Fairview just may have the firepower to make things even more interesting than I thought.

Indeed. Not sure if I would recommend anyone missing any of the 1A playoff games this year. Great competition all around and it looks like a lot of teams are coming out to play this year in 1A. Mayfield is gone, the crown is waiting and it is complete chaos and anarchy over who gets it. My guess is whoever truly wants it the most. Just the way I like it.

I'm really looking forward to the 1A playoff race. It's going to be even more interesting to see how this district shakes out at the end of the season; October should be a fun month.
