Another Texas HS football player hits ref

For the second week in a row, a San Antonio-area high school is dealing with a player who hit an official in the middle of the game.

 

This time it’s St. Anthony High School, whose game Saturday against Austin Hyde Park was interrupted by a fight and, then, Zeke Cardenas responding to a penalty flag by shoving the official. This is, obviously, a far cry from last week’s premeditated targeting incident. But with international attention given to players’ conduct toward officials—especially in San Antonio!—it’s still shocking to see happen. Tennessee state association somehow ruled it was not intentional.

 

School and local association have suspended him from football.
