HUGE win for U.K., this program and Stoops. First SEC road win in 6 years. Yes, they blew a good lead, were outplayed in the 2nd half but this time when they had to make a play, they did.

This one was one of the (L's ) in the 5-7 record that I had picked so now I believe this team will "probably" make a bowl.

Shannon Dawson got REALLY conservative in the 2nd half with his play calls and that really hurt us. It caused our offense to stagnate and allowed USC to gain momentum after they had some success on offense.

 

Towles played very well this game and could have had more yards if not for some conservative play calls. The 1 interception he threw I don't put on him either as Dorian Baker should have caught the 1st pass of the game to prevent that and his pass was altered as he was throwing.

 

Our defense is the real MVP of the game though. Redeemed themselves from last week and really frustrated USC all night.

 

I think we are on the exact same page. Completely agree with everything you said including Towles int. never should've been in that situation.

Did anyone else notice Cole Mosier(Walton Verona)coming up with two fumble recoveries? Young man played with his head and his heart. Lots of hustle on those plays.

Very true. You have to give the offensive line credit and of course Boom. I think the injury to Horton really hurt UK in the second half.

 

It may have but they can't show their hand like that. They showed a lot of stuff to Florida by doing so.

I will say this, I've never been huge on Barker not because I don't like him simply bc I think I like Towles a bit more. Knowing how highly touted Barker was out of HS and how close the QB competition was before the season started, I loved seeing Barker in guys ears pumping up his team when he was on the sidelines. That kinda stuff doesn't go unnoticed.

Towles 21/29 192 yards 1 td and 1 rushing td.

One thing I thought was huge was Kentucky still getting stops twice after weak calls extended drives for South Carolina. The int that was negated by a roughing the passer penalty and the incompletion that was saved by a holding call.

It's easy after those calls go against you to get frustrated and lose focus, but the Cats kept fighting and still made big plays.

It's a win, boys. On the road.

Cats defense played as a unit. Maybe one or two stood out but I couldn't tell you who exactly. With that said UK's freshmen and sophomores are very talented.

 

Did Elam play? I know this game didn't really suit his style but I don't remember seeing him once.
