GC defense was pretty solid big line nothing to impressive other than that just wore down rock just enough to get some plays in. Rock defense held GC run game to no where near what they were averaging they broke 2 plays late in the fourth that went for like 30-40 yards on a pretty tired defense for 44 minutes Rock stopped GC. Rock gave up one decent pass for maybe 40 that gave them the 8-0 lead that lasted until halftime. Rock tied the game at 8-8 going into the 4th. The TD that put GC up 14-8 looked out of bounds but refs called it a TD. The final TD came around 7 minutes to go when defense was wearing down and broke a run for TD made it 20-8. The entire game there was multiple times (4+) holding calls that the refs just were not going to call on GC. Let's face it there was a lot of calls the ref wasn't calling but that's beside the point. GC needs to give rock credit they have a pretty darn good run defense one that GC can't deny. They came in averaging over 300 yards a game an tonight they didn't get it. To GC favor tho they did hold Rock twice inside the 5 yard line late from scoring to hold on to the 20-8 win. Can't let the defense stop you within 5 yards if you want to win. Was a good hard hitting game by both teams. Good luck the rest of the season GC good game.

 

The refs are part of the game.....good or bad. You lost on the scoreboard......period!!

What was really funny about this game is that the WRVK crew stated that the touchdown catch looked out of bounds. Almost immediately after that a Garrard County players parent showed them a picture that she took that proved it was in bounds. Very funny stuff.

 

Coming from a Rocket fan here is my excuse for why Rockcastle County lost: Garrard County is the better team and they proved it.

As some of the Rockcastle fans stated before the game .. Garrard hasn't played a team like them .. And looking at the Lincoln score Rock should roll ... Well according to the Lincoln score now .. They must be a better football team then Rockcastle lol

Ho Hum............methodical..........ugly...........lots of defense.............lots of runnig the ball...........lots of illness........lots of injuries.......Yet Garrard has found a way to win 3 games. In fact, they could be 4-0 after losing late to an undefeated Shelby County team who has whitewashed all their other opponents. While, I dont see them as a real threat in 3A, they have a better team than some may think. The win over Mad Southern looks a little better after this week thats for sure.
