Go look at attendance info on KHSAA web page. Since it moved from papa johns to WKU the attendance across all 6 games appears to be around 6,000 plus except for 2013 when there was snow and weather issues and they moved the games around because of it. Compared it to the 3,000 attendance numbers that also rose with each game to 7,000 for 6a. To me it appears the numbers for attendance has leveled and been more consistent at WKU.

 

I will say we don't have any numbers for EKU OR CWS since it hasn't been there.

But I have to believe when you put 6,000 plus at WKU which has a max capacity of 21,000 looks a lot better than 6,000 in PJS OR CWS which have capacity of 55,000 and 61,000

Khsaa.org look for statistical records and find football finals box scores it shows the reported attendance by class game for each year. I will post actual link when I get back to my computer.

Interesting. It's a bit hard to suss the signal from the noise, though. I wish we'd had more years of six classes before the move to make the comparison easier. About the only thing I can say with any kind of certainty is that attendance for 1A has grown and 6A has diminished.

I've never been there so I don't really have any position. I don't know how expandable seating would work. It looks like the visitor seating is limited.

 

The one thing that Papa Johns and WKU has that made it really attractive is the indoor areas and the concourse areas where you could get in out of the weather. Sometimes in December it is nearly impossible to be out in that cold all day and having those places to warm up between games is invaluable.

At Georgetown seating is 5,000 to 6,000 I know it says expandable to 20,000 but I believe that only happens when NCAA approves them to move to Div II football as of right now they are still NAIA. Unless you count the standing room area in the end zones and on the practice field. They're scoreboard needs upgrading etc. just saying.

 

I love the school and have a son that plays there but I don't think it would fit well for state football finals.

Ummm I don't think Coach Cronin is going to le any team use his offices. His training rehab rooms, or the tiger club meeting room to change in. The Tiger club confrence room would or could be used for what Wat. Asked about an area to host 300 to 400 people but it would be an endzones view that would fit more as the club area because it is the only real closed in area.

 

Another consideration for Georgetown is they could be playing a playoff game at home then there would be no facility.

 

Also Scott county plays its home games there and I know there is lockerroom issues with the high school games.

Almost every single one of the large attendances was when it was T and X playing each other or when you had T and Male. Shoot in 2003 alone the 4A game was more than the other 3 combined. Of course having Brian Brohm in his last high school game didn't hurt matters.
