1974 ....WITHOUT A DOUBT !!!! I was 11 yo that summer and I kept a radio to my ear(AM dial back then).

 

Take a few minutes and listen to this compilation from '74 and see if you agree.

 

What were your favorites from this great year of music?

Definitely my favorite year. My buddy turned 16 in May and I would be 15 in July.

He had a VW bus we cruised town in and had all those great tunes on AM radio.

A few of my faves that don't get much airplay any more are Johnny Bristol's "Hang On In There Baby", Clap For The Wolfman" by The Guess Who and George McRae's "Rock Your Baby". I could go on and on.

Jim Stafford also had 3 Top 15 hits with "Spiders And Snakes","Wildwood Weed", and "My Girl Bill".
