September 11, 201511 yr 1996 was a great year for music. "Odelay," "Aenima," "Sublime," "All Eyez On Me," PJ's "No Code," Rage's "Evil Empire," the Fugees record, "ATLiens," Wilco's second record, a great Tori Amos record, Fiona Apple's incredible debut, AIC doing MTV Unplugged, STP's "Tiny Music …" record, Gillian Welch's "Revival," and that's just scratching the surface. But the best was the mighty Afghan Whigs' "Black Love," an historically underrated album that was buried in the dustbin by bad marketing on the part of the record label. I'd listen to this record every day from front to back if I had the time. My freshman year in college. Great music

September 11, 201511 yr Author Both started as studio musicians? Even better than that. Campbell had an affair with (and then married) Davis' wife, Sarah. She became Glen's third wife.
September 14, 201511 yr 1974 ....WITHOUT A DOUBT !!!! I was 11 yo that summer and I kept a radio to my ear(AM dial back then). Take a few minutes and listen to this compilation from '74 and see if you agree. What were your favorites from this great year of music? 1974 is easily my second favorite year after '69. Just went through the sample video you posted and it brought back a lot of childhood memories in the back seat of the car and the radio on. I turned 7 that year. The compilation video pretty well represented that year in music but left off my favorite song of '74.....
