LaSalle (OH) 43 East Central (IN) 20

Featured Replies

East Central beat Campbell Co 24-21 in the first week of the season and was 2-0 coming into this game.

LaSalle features UC RB commit Jeremy Larkin, who finished the game with, I think, 250 yards on 15 carries and 3 or 4 td's in only 3 qtrs.

LaSalle is in multiple top 25 polls, nationally.

And are favorites for the GCL title. They are loaded

Take Campbell out of this equation and nothing seems odd, add Campbell to the equation and it just doesn't make sense.

The Campbell/Cooper game is a big game for both schools. We need clarity!

The EC/LaSalle game was a little closer than the score indicates. EC took the opening drive of the 3rd quarter the length of the field to make the score 20 - 14 with 8:05 left in the 3rd. The Trojans shot themselves in the foot with multiple turnovers that gave LaSalle excellent field position. To the Lancers credit, they cashed in.

EC fumbled at the 1 yard line with 3:05 left in the game with the score 43 - 20. If EC punches that in, it is a two td game with the onside kick pending. Don't think EC would have won the game, but the score would have been more respectable and a better indicator of how competitive the game was.

Box Score

Think this is a little off as far as which quarter the scoring was in, but here are the stats:

LaSalle has an extremely questionable defense. We will see what they have this week when they play Colerain.

Good Genes in the family. His big brother Jeffery, played in all 27 games for Christian Brothers Univ. last year as a freshman. He Averaged 9.5 PPG.

When coach Nienaber was recruiting him he told me he thought he too was a potential D1 football player but thought he had a chance at him because he blew out his knee and had to miss his senior year of football. Worked out pretty good for all parties involved.

They both work very hard at their craft. Jeffery is the first one in the gym and the last one to leave. I think they finally gave him his own key.
