Something I must add after seeing Al Baker's name. Baker never had a 100 yard game against Mayfield. That was something we were very proud of back then. I recall he started varsity in middle school.

Last name article lists is Dean Wells. I believe he was likely most successful out of this group. Pretty sure he played quite a few years in NFL (Seahawks) as D-Line or LB, not Offensive Line as recruited.

 

I remember Al Baker coming to campus when there in 1980's; lot of hopes he was the next Herschell Walker. Good player, obviously never reached Herschel level.

 

We had some solid in state RBs back then . . . Higgs, Logan, Baker, etc

I think it says Dean Wilkes, an offensive lineman from Ohio. Dean Wells was a very successful LB from Louisville Holy Cross - went on to have a great career with Seattle and Carolina. He didn't come along until 1987...pretty sure.

They were. Changed sometime in the mid 90's. I know Dennis and Derek Johnson both played for Harrodsburg when they were in middle school, and if memory serves me correct; Dennis was also 1st Team Courier Journal All-State in '93 as an 8th grader.

Baker was as big as OL commits and bigger then DL and LBs. LOL
