I really think Cooper's run defense will shut down NCC running attack no matter who was playing for them. I will make a bold prediction that there will be no more than 3 1st downs gained on the ground. It's not a shot against NCC but how well Cooper's D played against the run vs Highlands who has a much bigger line than NCC.

Cooper's run defense did look good, but not sure if you guys watched film in NCC run defense but they also shut London down for Scott. I know he had a few nice runs but nothing spectacular IMO. Guess we will just see. Cooper may very end up winning this game but I don't see a blow out. Maybe I'm wrong, we will just find out on Friday night.

What is going on with NCC's passing game? I thought the QB was going to have a really good year and it sounded like there were several good receiver options in pre-season talk.

Ultimately I think they will be ok. The QB seems to be improving, and the receivers are above average. I think the move back to the Pro Style Offense is actually hurting their passing game a little bit. I just think that Cooper's pass defense is pretty solid and without a really good running game right now for NCC I could see them struggle this week.

 

Cooper struggled a little bit at times in pass defense last week against Highlands but that problem is very fixable as it was just an issue of not reading his receiver and looking in the backfield. I would be surprised to see many long passes completed Friday against Cooper.

I take Cooper based on results from last week (I know, not a good way to do it but that's all I have at this point). I did see Cooper last year and know that majority of their players have another year of experience under their belt. Plus I think Cooper is the best team in the area this year.

I still have no idea how NewCath lost that game on Friday. I think that the Breds will be fine when Smith comes back. There were holes there that he'll get into before they close. Harris is good, but Smith just gets there quicker. As the passing game comes along they will improve by leaps and bounds. At least the line looked quicker than last year. However, this week, NewCath will have to be able to get at least 3 big pass plays (25yards plus). They aren't going to be West Coasting it down the field out of the IPro.
