Anybody know anything about CAL?

They tied their scrimmage 0-0 so

I would say their offense is lacking.

I expect this to be a close one solely because of CAL's defense. SK better come ready to play because these "little" 2A schools aren't a joke. I do expect SK to win.

I hope this is not like the NCC scheduling when some years they can play with a 6A school, and other times they can't. I tire of the SK scheduling stereotype.

SK finally has a decent schedule but they need to step up in week 1 scheduling. It would

be one thing if CAL was a local rival etc but when there is no history or rivalry or local connection or even close to same class, there is no reason to schedule these types of

games to open a season and still bellyache about getting no respect.

Dillon Powell should get 200 yards 3 tds this game!

I'm a little hesitant to predict a closer game because CAL is starting a freshman QB and WR. Don't know how they will respond to starting their high school career against a good 6A team.

 

If that is indeed the case, then I do not see the value of scheduling this game. No disrespect to CAL, but with a freshman QB, they should have lightened their schedule and SK should have scheduled one of the speed teams that give them so much trouble in the playoffs.

I don't know why everybody thinks it is so easy to schedule teams. I personally think it is a pretty hard job to find 10 games and and have a bye week where you can take advantage of it. SK opened with Collins the past 2 years and I dont think Collins wanted to play again after losing twice. So SK had to find another team. I am fine with them playing CAL they have some good speed.

You can't make this stuff up.

 

Since SK won't even consider a regular season game against Trinity I'm starting a novena to the football Gods that they line up against each other in Bowling Green I'll bet some weaknesses will be found then.

Teams improve the most in the season from week 1 to week 2. That opportunity to improve out weighs getting the "W". Case in point, since we were both there, was Dixie and Cov Cath last year. Cov. Cath destroyed Dixie, but where did their seasons go from there?

decent week 1 opponent. It isn't rocket science...well to some it may be lol.

 

The only teams that should ever have trouble are those already in rural areas that don't have a lot of schools near them to schedule or a perenial powerhouse....neither of which SK can claim to be.

 

There are plenty of NKY teams to

choose from or if you want a team in Louisville I'm sure there are bigger schools to choose from.
