Two Military Planes Over Danville

I don't want to get Mountain Ref too antsy but I just saw two of those large, triangular shaped planes fly high over Danville.

I couldn't get my good camera in time and they just look like two black dots on my cell phone pictures, but it was pretty cool.

Are those bombers?

They were as high as any planes I've ever seen too. I'm going to try to post the pic from my cell phone although it literally just looks like two dots on it.

My cousin's husband is a F-16 pilot. A couple years ago he was in Dayton, Oh and my cousin had to pick him up at Wright-Patterson AFB. However he first had to do a fly-over at a Bengals game and then fly to St. Louis and do a fly-over their as well. My cousin left Ft. Thomas (67 mile drive to Wright-Patterson AFB) after they got off the phone as he was heading out to get into his F-16. He was back on the ground at Wright-Patterson before she got there.

F-16's can easily handle Mach 1...just over 761 mph. Their "cruising speed" (if you want to call it that) is around 500 mph.

That's a round trip of about 134 miles for the plane, at 500 mph, and that makes for about a 16 minute round trip.

The year he did a "fly over" during Ft Thomas's 4th of July Parade was an absolutely incredible experience. It felt like he was no higher than the water tower in town. Flew right down N. and S. Ft Thomas Ave. So cool!
