July 27, 201511 yr https://www.facebook.com/topic/Baphomet/112458342100451?source=whfrt&position=1&trqid=6176233577726433137 I remember back in the 80's (possibly earlier but too young to know) Satanic worship being around and discussed in the media but I was under the assumption that it had died down to the point of no longer really being an organized religion. I guess I was wrong???? Due to the first amendment, I guess they have the right to put this statue where it is but this will bring about loads of protests. This may be one a the very few topics where evangelicals and Muslims will work toward the same goal???
July 27, 201511 yr Author What goal would that be? To raise a ruckus.....not saying it would accomplish anything but both groups are fervent enough that they cannot let this go.
July 27, 201511 yr Didn't they originally intend to put it in Oklahoma City as a counter to the 10 Commandments? I mean, they've got a pretty solid argument, at least legally.

July 27, 201511 yr Agreed. What would the legal argument be to prevent them from doing this? If I recall correctly, I believe they intended on using the statue to remove other religions from public facilities. They wanted the legislature to either remove the 10 Commandments or be forced to allow their statue. As far as an argument against it, I guess if there are other religious symbols and statues, there is none.
July 27, 201511 yr I read that to keep down protesters that everyone attending had to first give their soul to satan, before they were allowed in.
July 27, 201511 yr Why shouldn't they have the same right? The religious monument debate is silly. A picture of the Ten Commandments won't make Christians think "oh yeah, don't kill that guy," Just like a statue of a demon won't make a person think "I should kill that guy." As far as religion goes, true faith of a person is in their heart, and it won't be influenced by something like that.
July 27, 201511 yr They have a right to do this no debate. Now I hope everyone knows these aren't really satanist . They are militant atheist who like to mock religion and make people angry. Just ignore them.

Just ignore them. So atheist = satanist as far as you're concerned? Pretty sure that's not how it works with either group. Atheists wouldn't be messing with the Baphomet stuff because, well, they don't believe in Satan.

They appall my atheist friends.

July 28, 201511 yr This group says they are a non-theistic satanist group. Which literally makes no sense . They say they are satinist but then compare themselves to to Hindu as being non-theistic . Then in their mission statements it's an atheist definition. They are militant atheist mocking religion. Heck the evil church of Satan disavows them . They are non-theistic but yet they just so happen use the one symbol that universally offends every Christian in the country. Like I said if they are recognized as a religion they have a right to do this. But the truth of their mission should be exposed.
