Owensboro Catholic beat GRC 4-0; Owensboro Catholic beat DuPont Manual 4-2, DuPont Manual Beat GRC 7-0, and NCC Beat GRC 4-1. Is there a better team in the state than Owensboro Catholic? Very impressive.

I knew they beat Trigg Co. but didn't know the score. Wasn't able to make that game. I think Mercer will do fairly well this year. I know at the camp they went to in early July the JV beat Southwestern's varsity 4-1. My daughter plays on the JV for Mercer.

 

One downside is they are in the same district as West Jessamine. :thumb:

NDA always has up and coming athletes, but the have a lot of injuries this year with returning top players.

NDA also has a starting gker who is not playing HS and a few key kids out with ACL injuries. They will always be talented but a couple special kids are not playing. I still expect them to be the class of nky.

NDA aslo hs players who are seniors that aren't playing this year, I do not know their names but it came from a very good source who i cannot reveal to close to the program.

Could this be the year someone knocks off NDA in the Regionals? Without Sherrard, Greenwell and a couple others this could be it. Only time will tell. If i had to guess after watching NCC at Bluegrass I'd say they have the best chance to win the Region if NDA doesn't.

NDA's "starting" varsity keeper for the last two years graduated this past Spring. If there is a keeper at NDA not playing high school soccer this year she was not the "starting" varsity keeper in past years.

 

NDA has lots of young talent and will continue to reload. As always formation and strategy to match the available talent will be key.

So I am assuming that the Kim girl that plays GK is not playing high school but rather playing for OE? Any truth that a player at HHS may be looking to transfer to NDA?

Doubt it she has varsity minutes.

From what I hear, she wants out and has since last spring.

A little late in the game to be thinking about transferring. Maybe just wishing out loud?

any idea what the KHSAA rules say for a transfer this late?

 

There have been a few HHS to NDA xfers that have been allowed to play in the last several years.

clarification

I believe you can transfer anytime you like. Now to be able to play, you would have to meet one of the requirements or possibly have extenuating circumstances whereby the KHSAA rules you eligible. Always thought the school transferred from had to give a release, but that is not the case.

I know that a legitimate change of address into a district is ok. Financial hardship would likely be allowed if transferring out of a private school, I would imagine.
