Plan on bringing a big cooler with all your food and drinks. Bring your own potty, if you can.

This is one of those times that I wish we had an RV!

Are Bluegrass schedules available online? I know they have been in the past. Hope to see some updates throughout the weekend.

Boone plays Dunbar and Daviess County on Saturday. Had a game scheduled for Sunday morning but Boone has a policy against playing on Sunday so it is a two game weekend for Boone. They are playing in the A level.

I will check your times/fields and try to locate you on Saturday, I think we play at 11:00 and 6:30.

I am bringing a side dish and hanging out with your group!!! :thumb:

I wish them all the best. I hope Boone boys have a nice season. I will be looking for oldgrappler's updates.

Thx, hoops5. I can't believe this is my son's senior year. Been doing this since he was 4 or 5. I will keep the forum posted on Boone's games as best I can. I have three very active kids and only one of me, albeit there is enough material to make three.

I'll look for you as well, YC. It will be nice to connect again.

Boone plays at 11 am against Dunbar on MST-07

I won't be at that game as the closing program for the GSP is at that time in Morehead and I will be there with my daughter. Unfortunately for me, the boys always play their best soccer at BGG in the morning because trying to find a place to hang out all day and then eating at a pizza buffet is exhausting and they play that way in the afternoon.

Boone's second game is at 5 pm against Daviess County on MST-03.

This should be an interesting day for Boone.

1. There is a new coach and it will be interesting to see his strategy.

2. This will be a new lineup as there were many changes from last year due to graduating seniors. Boys who did play last year will have new leadership roles. I think this will be a "let's get our feet wet" and "see what we got" kind of day. I think there will be some pleasant surprises.

Simple answer, A is the "highest".

Schools are allowed to request which group you play in and I think they typically honor this request.

If you look through the pools you will see some schools that have more than one varsity squad, some actually do an A/B team and some just mix the kids up into 2 squads. I know of others that put in 3 teams, Varsity is A, JV is the B team and they put their Freshman squad in the JV division.

Bottom line, I am not sure you can read much into what groups some of the schools are in.

May have been mentioned already but who is on Boone's new coaching staff? Head coach, etc.?

Boone's coaching staff? Yes, I'd like to know also. I talked to the head coach briefly. His name is Chris Norris. I wish he'd put together a "meet n greet" so the parents would get better information (ever try to ask a teen for an answer?). "I dunno" is the name of the rest of the coaching staff if I am to believe my son.

Last night there were several coaches on the field with the team. The head coach, a second coach that said he was helping the goal keepers, a third coach who helped the keepers last year, and one guy who has been helping out was not there last night but is a parent who volunteered his services. As far as who is the JV and Frosh coaches, let me mimic my son :idunno:

I suppose the "meet n greet" will be unofficial at BGG.

I will do my best Jim Rockford impression and see what I can find out this weekend. I'll get back to you. Now, where can I borrow a '78 Firebird in Sierra Gold trim?Jim Rockford?s Firebird is the thinking man?s Pontiac prize | Hemmings Daily

"Meet n Greet" at Hoops5's shade tent. Don't forget side dish. Leave parking space for '78 Firebird.

I am now heading down earlier than planned.... Hoops will make an awesome host.

No problem with pictures. I took them last year and plan on doing it again this year. Parents will be lined up along the middle of the field buy the penalty boxes were clear last year when our teams were playing.During the heat of the day the parents were all crammed under a few trees in the corners and I had almost the entire sideline to myself.

How did everyone do?

Highlands JV beat Scott Co. 3-0 and lost to

Madison Central by the same.

Boone played Dunbar and lost 2-0. Boone played well and actually probably possessed the ball more than Dunbar in the first 25 minutes of the game. Even though they lost I think there was a feeling that things went well and there is the potential for improvement on the team and playing good soccer. The Keeper played a tremendous game and saved several scores. Incidently, the backup goalie for Boone started the second half. He wasn't in five minutes when a Dunbar player made a run at the goal. Keep scooped up the ball in his arms and the Dunbar ran through running into the Keep and threw an elbow into the keep's head. Keep had to come out of the game and did not return in this game or the next. A yellow card was issued.

Boone lost 3-0 to Daviess County. There was a let down in this game but the coach put in substitutes pretty quickly and did lots of substituting throughout the game giving multiple players game time and limiting the game time of many of the starters.

I think this was a productive weekend for the coach to see what he has and how to proceed from here. It was productive for the boys because they played a good Dunbar team and see they can compete with them. I think after this team gets some experience together as a team they will be much improved.
