I also agree that Cooper had a pretty strong year last season, I also know that they beat NCC in their first meeting but the second time they played resulted in Cooper's only convincing loss of the season, I am going to give Mike some credit for this.

 

You can credit you or what (field) for the two different results.

If I recall correctly, Cooper was missing a starter or 2 (Zane Ross) being 1.

It's all a matter of who was on the field, not who was coaching.

Flops I have tried to speak to Mike in the past and he acted as if he didn't care about tactics and formation.

If you could get 10 former players to rank his coaching (head coach) he may be lucky to get a 5. Anyone out there a former ncc guy?

Appears to me that there must be some personal animosity here since I have yet to see any actual evidence to "the game passing him by". How is the ncc program in a better place now that he is no longer leading this program? Maybe answering this question will shed some light.

I find it funny that it's being mentioned that someone who hasn't reached 40 yet is too old and the game has passed them by . . . . isn't that comment reserved for someone who's been a head coach for let's say at least 15 years. Come on man!!!

 

Let's put it into comparison . . . . Ryle hasn't reached a regional final in the past 3 years. . . . has the game passed him by??

 

Take the personal vendetta's out of this topic and praise the job these guys do in developing the young men into strong individuals who will be successful in whatever they choose to do in life.

He didn't develop players at Ncc!!!! That's why he couldn't win anything once juniet was gone. In his 4 years (not 3) as head coach he had some of the best players in the area, that's why his team's won games. Obviously he was not trying to develop them into young men, that's why he was let go.

I was letting this go until you all came on here again to try and prove my option wrong. C'mon man did you or your son play for him, did you watch him make a mockery of the game?

Your double yellow has been converted to a red - it's disheartening to listen to opinions that have no logical foundation and try to discredit someone's abilities. Yes we all have opinions, that's why they're free. But over the same period of time (4 years), there's been several teams with much better soccer players who haven't experienced the same level of success as a team. A coach who can get players at various skill levels to play together is a pretty successful coach (i.e., John Calipari). I don't see how this makes a mockery of the game.

 

During your time sitting out a game (under a red card). Start to understand the entire landscape of Northern Kentucky high school soccer, evaluate each teams accomplishments, dissect the differences from high school and club soccer (totally different styles of play), and enjoy the efforts these kids and coaches demonstrate. Stay positive, enjoy the games and I'll see you on the pitch.

So, if you are right DBLY, and Mike was actually at NCC for 4 years, his first year would have been 2011.

Yes he was the coach of that team, he had a couple of players that should be in Ncc hall of fame one day. Austin Juniet and Nathan Grosser lead that team to state.

In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, NCC upset CovCath in the regional final in 2011. I believe CovCath was the top ranked team in the state for the majority of the year and was ranked nationally as well. Grosser had a dominating performance between the pipes, especially the last 15 minutes of the game where he made save after save.

Yeah that CCH team was loaded and that loss was the final straw for that coach.:lol:
