July 7, 201511 yr Just because Kobe didn't take it public that he wanted that type money doesn't mean he didn't behind closed doors. Behind closed doors he probably told them he wouldnt have a problem leaving for someone else and wanted to see their commitment to him financially and long term. Plus Kobe is one of the most competitive players I ever seen which is a good thing and I love. So he probably thought he could still get these guys to win even with his big contract. I'm sure he just like every athlete never considered the possibility of being hurt like he has recently. So his injuries and his contract have hurt. So yes I think your kidding yourself if you think Kobe didn't ask for that type money behind closed doors. Which it is managements fault for agreeing to it though. Most of the problem is managements part and Kobe is just a tiny part of the problem. Ahhhh, pure speculation on your part. Kobe held the management hostage for a max contract and the same management who is basically forcing Kobe out of the door just sat and took it from Kobe behind closed doors. The same management who when asked if Kobe has any input on coaching hires they pretty much said hell no. Yeah, they really seem like they just sit and take it from Kobe. This was all discussed when it went down 2 years ago. It was common knowledge back then. I listen to Max and Marcellous and Mason and Ireland a ton. Both shows are based out of Los Angeles and they spend a majority of their time discussing the Lakers. I spend a lot of time obsessing over Laker basketball. Especially right now in this transition stage. I'll provide you with all of the sources I can find.

July 8, 201511 yr Author I like Kobe too. Have defended him more than once on here but he's got to have something on the Buss family at this point. It's unhealthy for any team to keep an aging, oft injured star past their prime.
