I thought this might deserve it's own thread. Happy for Todd Frazier and glad that the fans in Greater Cincinnati stepped up.

 

Reds did a great job of marketing for him and he might a pretty nice comeback. I think he wound up being third in voting overall in the National League.

Nice to know that we'll have a starter in the game.

Very happy for Frazier. Gotta think Nolan Arenado has to be wondering what the hell he's gotta do to get voted in though.

Arenado has been solid, no doubt about that -- but Frazier's numbers are slightly better across the board (except RBI's).

 

Frazier: .285, 25 HR, 54 RBI, 8 SB, .344 OBP

Arenado: .283, 24 HR, 68 RBI, 0 SB, .314 OBP

 

Both are worthy, but Frazier's numbers are slightly better & that doesn't even take the location of the game into consideration...

^Didn't realize his numbers had tapered off like that. As of about 10 days ago, he was up in everything except OBP.

I've got to think that my consistent 35 votes per day for the last week is what made the difference. You're welcome, Todd.

Wonder if Todd has a nice bonus built into that contract for being named to the all star team. If so, should we all be sending him an invoice for our share?

Frazier deserves to be the starter

I've heard/seen about 4-5 interviews by Frazier regarding his all-star starter status. I have yet to hear him thank the Redlegs fans for going to bat for him the last few weeks to get him that starting position.

Well, I did just see this on cincinnatireds.com. Oh how we are so ready to criticize, huh?

 

@OlDog75, I'd imagine that it's because the producers of the interview cut certain things out because I think I've heard him say it on WLW and Fox Sports, as well as his tweet that you posted.

 

He specifically thanked Lisa Braun and Jamie Ramsey as well.

You won't find a bigger fan of Matt Carpenter, but I'm really happy for Frazier. One of the better guys in the game and he absolutely deserved it. Hope he goes yard.

Haven't they typically named the Home Run Derby captains and participants by now? Have to think Frazier would be the NL captain.

Thought I read they were getting rid of the captains this year. I'd expect the bracket to be announced in the next day or two.
