My idea for cost cutting on illegal immigrants or refugees

Since its usually the rich and powerful who dont mind these people coming to America and getting all the free benefits I have a solution that can help the working middle class person who usually has to pay for this.

 

Assign each person who is in the top 10% of wealth a certain number of illegal people and refugees until all are accounted for.

 

Then let them pay for all food, health care, phone bills, DUIs, rent, etc, etc. Send the bill directly to them form each and every person they are in charge of.

Let them pay for the ER visits, write the letters saying why they went to ER, etc.[/b]

 

Make them feel like a middle class person feels who has to feed their family and others who don't want to work or just looking for a handout.

 

And be sure to at least let members of Congress have to participate in losing personal income.

That's great in theory, but the top-end most wealthy in the US would likely reply with something along the lines of "What, we already pay them to work for us illegally?"

You're assuming here that all folks that are here illegally are shiftless, non producing, law breaking (beyond just being here illegally...like you specifically mention DUI), drug or alcohol addicted, complete drains on society, here simply for the free stuff. Sorry, that's just not the case. While some fit into your general characterization, many are productive, contributing members of society just here for an honest days work, trying to provide for their families, much like you and I. I'm guessing there are many, many more native born folks that fit the categorization just as well if not better than the folks that are illegally here.

What about them?? Are you ok with throwing kids out onto the streets with no protection, care, safety, etc?? While I get your point of who's paying for it, does what's currently happening really affect your standard of living significantly?? If we deport all of them, or refused to issue those benefits, would your standard of living increase significantly?? These kids do eventually become old enough to work, and a good percentage of them become good, contributing members of society.

 

And the argument of illegals voting and changing elections is just tired. Illegals aren't voting for fear of deportation. And if we could get more than the 50% of our native citizens to vote, maybe it wouldn't be such a problem anyway.

 

Every problem you mention as being associated with illegals, is just as big, or probably even bigger within our own native born population. Again, remember, this country was founded by illegal immigrants....lets stop assuming the current bunch is that much worse than the original bunch that came over in the 1700's.

No. But did you realize that the number of Irish illegals is quite high? The result of a severe limitation on Irish immigration at the request of the Irish government decades ago to keep from losing so many citizens to the US. I'll find the article and link it.
