Most years yes not all years. Teams can get hot , injuries happen , fatigue kicks in.

MJ never had to guard anyone. Who were the best people he played? Reggie Miller? Who else? Joe Dumars? The only thing MJ does better than Lebron is score. Lebron defends at least 4 positions a game and can defend all 5 if needed. MJ can't do that.

LeBron hardly guards 1-4 anymore. This isnt young Lebron anymore guarding non stop the entire game. He may do it some at the end of the game. But there is a reason he wasn't on 1st or 2nd team defense this year.

 

That argument about who did Jordan have to guard is just silly. Jordan guarded the 1 and 2 according to who was the better player . Could be thomas/Dumars , Miller, Drexler, Glove etc.... Drexler is only one of top 5 two guards of all time.

I'm not so certain that Mozgov would take Varejao's starting job. We'll never know because we can't replay this year with both of them in the lineup. At the same time, when Varejao was hurt he was a starter and Thompson played behind Love. Either way, you can't discount what Varejao brings to the lineup. With him, Love, Mozgov and Thompson in the lineup Lebron doesn't have to go pull down 12 boards a game and he preserves his body.

I say defend you disagree. Lebron has passing. But Jordans scoring ability was not just a little bit more diverse than Lebrons it was a lot more.

So if we are calling this their big dog eras and comparing. Jordan was 4-0 in title games his first four years and Lebron is 2-2.

Sure I can he's not very good anymore. If he's healthy they might not make the trade for Mozgov and they are a worse defensive team.

I never said the Pistons team would sniff the Eastern Conference Finals in the 90s. That's a non issue to me. I've already said the East was weaker in the 2000s than in the 90s but that the East was weak back then too. Go look at the playoffs back then and tell me what GREAT teams there were back then in the East. You act like the East in the 90s is like how the West is now and that's so not true. Pacers, Knicks and the Magic for a couple of years. Other than that the East was hot garbage and keep in mind the Pacers and Knicks played every year in the playoffs so the Bulls only had to face th winner. By all means, please refresh my memory of the great Eastern Conference teams of the 90s. It was top heavy like it is now.

 

I also don't understand how completion has anything to do with the discussion. If competition means so much then Magic Johnson is the GOAT and it isn't even close.
