He was great for about 3-4 years before concussions caused him to miss a bunch of time. After being traded to the Rangers, he had one good year, and then became just an ok player for the last 6-7 years of his career. He's been passed over 5 times for the HOF and may never make it in. That being said, for a few years in the mid 90's the Flyers were the best team in Philly. I still have my John Leclair jersey. I would maybe add Dale Hawerchuck, Mike Gartner and Mats Sundin to the list of Hockey players

When that low-down, good-for-nothing, worthless sack of garbage Norm Green sold the North Stars to Dallas I tried to really get into those Legion of Doom Flyers and the squads shortly thereafter. It didn't really take but I definitely loved them at the time.

I watched it a little growing up, but when I went away to college, many of my new friends were big hockey fans, and I quickly became one too. Hockey is still the most exciting sport to watch in person, and I'd argue there's nothing better than a game 7, overtime playoff hockey game. Many times I've been up until 3 am, watching a triple overtime playoff game, cursing myself because I had to work in a few hours, but there was no way I could stop watching it. Aside from quick trips to the beach, cheese steaks, and real hogies, NHL hockey is one of the things I really miss about living in the mid-atlantic states.

One of my favorite hockey-watching memories was Game 5 of the 2000 East semifinals. Philly vs. Pittsburgh. Three periods and Five overtimes into the game Keith Primeau put the game winner over Ron Tugnutt's shoulder at about 2:30 am. Loved that season. Really thought Philly was going to win it all that season but were upset in Seven games by the Devils. Don't follow the Flyers all that closely anymore but still hate New Jersey. Plus Scott Stevens was the guy that finally put Lindros out of contention as a great player forever. Seriously hate the Devils.

In the history of the EPL, there is 1 non-champion that stands above the rest and it hurts me greatly. My man, Steven Gerrard w/ Liverpool, but he won the Champions League in '05. So I guess that he has to be out.
